Abstract
One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for managing traffic, such as road traffic. When a traffic authority indicates a desire to reduce load on a route or within a particular geographic zone, an offer is provided to a group of one or more users. The offer is indicative of a reward provided to the users in return for avoiding the route during a specified time window. If a user accepts the offer, movement of the user is monitored during the specified time window to verify that the user avoided the route, in which case the reward is provided to the user. If an insufficient number of offers are accepted (e.g., to achieve a desired load reduction), the offer communicated to the users is adjusted (e.g., to increase an incentive for users to accept the offer). Outstanding offers are revoked once a sufficient number of offers are accepted (e.g., to achieve the desired load reduction).

11. A system for traffic management, comprising:
-
a user identification component configured to identify a user to whom to communicate an offer to facilitate reducing traffic along a route by a desired load reduction during a specified time window, the offer indicative of a reward provided in return for avoiding the route during the specified time window; an incentive generating component configured to adjust the reward until a number of accepted offers satisfies the desired load reduction; and a route monitoring component configured to monitor movement of the user during the specified time window if the user has accepted the offer to verify that the user has avoided the route. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)

19. A method for traffic management, comprising:
-
identifying a set of one or more users to whom to communication an offer; communicating a first offer to the set, the first offer indicative of a first reward provided to respective users of the set in return for avoiding a route during a specified time window; when a number of users of the set that accept the first offer is less than a desired threshold, communicating a second offer to users of the set that did not accept the first offer, the second offer indicative of a second reward, the second reward different than the first reward; and revoking at least one of the first offer or the second offer when the desired threshold is met. - View Dependent Claims (20)
