1. A method for assembling an implantable medical device comprising the steps of:
- providing a plurality of feedthrough connector leads;
providing device electronics for performing a medical treatment;
providing a casing of the implantable medical device comprising a header portion and another portion for receiving the device electronics;
assembling a contact assembly including the steps of;
providing components of the contact assembly, said components including;
a plurality of conductive contact blocks each having two sides, a plurality of compliant seals, and a plurality of insulating components, andstacking the components of the contact assembly together such that for each contact block;
an insulating component is provided on each side of the contact block and at least one seal is inserted between the contact block and at least one insulating component,inserting the assembled contact assembly into the header portion of the casing; and
electrically connecting each one of the contact blocks to a corresponding connector of the device electronics using a corresponding one of the plurality of feedthrough connector leads.

providing a plurality of feedthrough connector leads; providing device electronics for performing a medical treatment; providing a casing of the implantable medical device comprising a header portion and another portion for receiving the device electronics; assembling a contact assembly including the steps of; providing components of the contact assembly, said components including;
a plurality of conductive contact blocks each having two sides, a plurality of compliant seals, and a plurality of insulating components, andstacking the components of the contact assembly together such that for each contact block;

providing a plurality of feedthrough connector leads; providing device electronics for performing a medical treatment; providing a casing of the implantable medical device comprising a header portion and another portion for receiving the device electronics; providing an assembled contact assembly having a plurality of exposed conductive contact surfaces, said contact assembly being adapted to receive a plurality of pins; inserting the assembled contact assembly as a single integrated unit into the header portion of the casing; and subsequent to the step of inserting the assembled contact assembly, electrically connecting each one of the conductive contact surfaces to a corresponding connector of the device electronics using a corresponding one of the plurality of feedthrough connector leads. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13)

providing a plurality of feedthrough connector leads; providing a casing of the implantable medical device comprising a header portion and another portion for receiving device electronics; assembling a contact assembly, said assembling including the steps of; providing components of the contact assembly, said components including;
a plurality of conductive contact blocks each having two sides and a conductive contact surface, a plurality of compliant seals, and a plurality of insulating components, andstacking the components of the contact assembly together such that for each contact block;
an insulating component is provided on each side of the contact block and at least one seal is inserted between the contact block and at least one insulating component, whereinthe components are arranged to receive at least one pin having a plurality of conductive surfaces each associated with one of said conductive contact surfaces; inserting the assembled contact assembly into the header portion of the casing; and subsequent to the step of inserting the assembled contact assembly, electrically connecting each one of the conductive contact surfaces to a corresponding connector of the device electronics using a corresponding one of the plurality of feedthrough connector leads. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20, 21)

22. A method for assembling an implantable medical device comprising the steps of:

providing a plurality of feedthrough connector leads; providing a casing of the implantable medical device comprising a header portion and another portion for receiving device electronics; assembling a contact assembly adapted for receiving a plurality of pins, said assembling including the steps of; providing components of the contact assembly, said components including;
a plurality of conductive contact blocks each having two sides and a conductive contact surface, a plurality of compliant seals, and a plurality of insulating components, andstacking the components of the contact assembly together such that for each contact block;
an insulating component is provided on each side of the contact block and at least one seal is inserted between the contact block and at least one insulating component, whereinfor each one of said pins, a subset of said contact blocks are arranged in a column for receiving the one of said pins such that the contact blocks adapted for receiving any one of said pins are at least arranged next to contact blocks for receiving another one of said pins such that the columns are arranged in a row; inserting the assembled contact assembly as a single integrated unit into the header portion of the casing; subsequent to the step of inserting the assembled contact assembly, electrically connecting each one of the conductive contact surfaces to a corresponding connector on the device electronics using a corresponding one of the plurality of feedthrough connector leads; and filling the header portion of the casing with the contact assembly provided therein with a sealing material - View Dependent Claims (23, 24, 25)
