15. A method for preventing loss or theft of a wireless medical device, the method comprising:

a processing unit; and system memory, the system memory including instructions that when executed by the processing unit cause the electronic computing device to; process a clinician authentication; store clinician authentication information, the clinician authentication information including a time stamp; access the clinician authorization information; when a determination is made that the clinician is authorized, release a wireless thermometer probe from the electronic computing device; display identification information for the clinician on the electronic computing device; start a timer when the wireless thermometer probe is released from the electronic computing device; determine whether the wireless thermometer probe has been returned to the electronic computing device within a predetermined time interval; and when a determination is made that the wireless thermometer probe has not been returned to the electronic computing device within the predetermined time interval, activate an alarm on the wireless thermometer probe. - View Dependent Claims (24)
