Abstract

A method for displaying content displayed on one or more first devices on a second device is provided. The method includes receiving a request to display content currently displayed on a first device on a second device, the request including a gesture made on a screen of the first device, and pairing the first device to the second device. The method further includes transmitting instructions to the second device to display the content currently displayed on the first device, and transmitting the content currently displayed on the first device to the second device for display thereon.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a memory; and

one or more processors, wherein the one or more processors are configured to cause the system to;

pair a first device to a second device when a request to display content currently displayed on the first device on the second device is received, the request comprising a gesture made on the first device;

transmit instructions to the second device to display the content currently displayed on the first device; and

transmit the content currently displayed on the first device to the second device for display thereon.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to:

transmit instructions to the second device to cease the display of the content on the second device when a request to cease displaying the content on the second device is received; and

transmit the content to the first device, wherein the content is displayed on the first device in a same state as it was displayed on the second device before the display of the content on the second device was ceased.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to transmit at least one of a destination web address or a content location as part of the instructions.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to transmit control instructions for controlling the content displayed on the second device when a request to control the content displayed on the second device is received from the first device.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to pair the first device to the second device comprises using geofencing.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are configured to cause the system to transmit instructions and content to the second device is further configured to transmit the instructions and the content to one of a plurality of second devices selected by the first device.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the system to transmit online auctions for merchandise related to the content for display by the second device.

14. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, wherein further comprising transmitting online auctions for merchandise related to the content for display by the second device.

8. A computer-readable medium including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a server, causes the server to perform a method comprising:

pairing a first device to a second device when a request to display content currently displayed on the first device on the second device is received, the request comprising a gesture made on the first device;

transmitting instructions to the second device to display the content currently displayed on the first device; and

transmitting the content currently displayed on the first device to the second device for display thereon.

9. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising:

transmitting instructions to the second device to cease the display of the content on the second device when a request to cease displaying the content on the second device is received; and

transmitting the content to the first device, wherein the content is displayed on the first device in a same state as it was displayed on the second device before the display of the content on the second device was ceased.

10. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein transmitting the instructions to the second device comprises transmitting at least one of a destination web address or a content location as part of the instructions.

11. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising transmitting control instructions for controlling the content displayed on the second device when a request to control the content displayed on the second device is received from the first device.

12. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein pairing the first device to the second device comprising pairing the first device to the second device using geofencing.

13. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein transmitting the instructions and the content to the second device comprises transmitting the instructions and the content to one of a plurality of second devices selected by the first device.

15. A computer-readable medium including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a server, causes the server to perform a method comprising:

pairing at least one first device to at least one second device when a request to display content currently displayed the at least one first device on the at least one second devices is received from the first device;

transmitting instructions to the at least one second device to display the content currently displayed on the first device;

transmitting the content currently displayed on the at least one first device to the at least one second device for display thereon; and

transmitting information related to the content to the at least one second device for display along with the content, the information determined from metadata associated with the content.

16. The computer-readable medium of claim 15, wherein:

pairing the at least one first device to the at least one second device comprises pairing a plurality of first device to the at least one second device;

transmitting instructions to the at least one second device comprises transmitting instructions from each of the plurality of first devices; and

transmitting the content currently displayed on the at least one first device comprises transmitting the content currently displayed on each of the plurality of first devices.

17. The computer-readable medium of claim 16, wherein transmitting the content displayed on each of the plurality of first devices comprises transmitting the content displayed on each of the plurality of first devices for simultaneous display on a split screen of the at least one second device.

18. The computer-readable medium of claim 15, wherein:

pairing the at least one first device to the at least one second device comprises pairing the at least one first device to a selected at least one second device from a plurality of second devices;

transmitting instructions to the at least one second device comprises transmitting instructions to the selected at least one second device; and

transmitting the content currently displayed on the at least one first device comprises transmitting the content to the selected at least one second device for display thereon.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 15, further comprising sharing the content displayed on the second device.

20. The computer-readable medium of claim 19, wherein sharing the content comprises:

generating a Quick Response (QR) code; and

displaying the generated QR code on the at least one second device along with the content, the QR code providing a link to the displayed content.

21. The computer-readable medium of claim 15, wherein the request comprises a command entered on the first device.

22. The computer-readable medium of claim 21, wherein the command comprises a gesture made on the first device.

23. The computer-readable medium of claim 22, wherein the gesture comprises a flick gesture made on a screen of the first device.
