Abstract

A screen panel assembly includes a screen panel and one or more raised screen components, wherein at least one of the raised screen components is disposed on the screen panel. Furthermore, each of the one or more raised screen components includes at least one inclined screen surface that defines a first plane that is oriented at a first angle relative to said screen panel. Additionally, the first plane is substantially aligned with a second plane that is oriented at a second angle relative to a third plane that is perpendicular to a displacement vector along which the screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

Claims

1. A screen panel assembly, comprising:

a screen panel; and

one or more raised screen components, wherein at least one of said one or more raised screen components is disposed on said screen panel, each of said one or more raised screen components comprising at least one inclined screen surface that defines a first plane that is oriented at a first angle relative to said screen panel, wherein said first plane is substantially aligned with a second plane that is oriented at a second angle relative to a third plane that is perpendicular to a displacement vector along which said screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

2. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said inclined screen surface comprises a first edge that is aligned with said screen panel and a second edge that extends upward from a top surface of said screen panel.

3. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said first plane is substantially perpendicular to a displacement vector along which said screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

4. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said second angle is less than approximately 45°

.

5. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said second angle is less than approximately 22.5°

.

6. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said second angle is less than approximately 10°

.

7. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said second angle is approximately 0°

.

8. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said first angle is between approximately 35°

and 55°

.

9. The screen panel assembly of claim 1, wherein said screen panel comprises a plurality of said one or more raised screen components.

10. A screen panel assembly, comprising:

a plurality of screen panels; and

a plurality of raised screen components, wherein at least one of said plurality of raised screen components is disposed on each of said plurality of screen panels, each of said plurality of raised screen components comprising one or more inclined screen surfaces having a first edge that is aligned with a respective one of said plurality of screen panels and a second edge that extends upward from a top surface of said respective screen panel, wherein each of said one or more inclined screen surfaces defines a first plane that is oriented at a first angle relative to said respective screen panel and is substantially aligned with a second plane that is oriented at a second angle relative to a third plane that is perpendicular to a displacement vector along which said screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

11. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein, for at least some of said plurality raised screen components, said first plane defined by said one or more inclined screen surfaces thereof is substantially perpendicular to a displacement vector along which said screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

12. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein, for at least some of said plurality raised screen components, said second angle of said second plane relative to said third plane is less than approximately 45°

.

13. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein, for at least some of said plurality raised screen components, said second angle of said second plane relative to said third plane is less than approximately 22.5°

.

14. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein, for at least some of said plurality raised screen components, said second angle of said second plane relative to said third plane is less than approximately 10°

.

15. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein, for at least some of said plurality raised screen components, said second angle of said second plane relative to said third plane is approximately 0°

.

16. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein said first angle is between approximately 35°

and 55°

.

17. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein each of said plurality of screen panels comprises at least two of said plurality of raised screen components.

18. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, further comprising a plurality of flow gaps, wherein each of said plurality of flow gaps is disposed between adjacent pairs of said plurality of raised screen components.

19. The screen panel assembly of claim 18, wherein said plurality of flow gaps forms a substantially serpentine flow path along said screen panel assembly.

20. The screen panel assembly of claim 19, wherein a centerline of at least one of said plurality raised screen components is substantially aligned with a respective one of said plurality of flow gaps between an adjacent pair of said plurality of raised screen components that are positioned upstream of said at least one of said plurality of raised screen components relative to a flow direction of said substantially serpentine flow path.

21. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein each of said plurality of raised screen components comprises a frame that is adapted to be coupled to a respective one of said plurality of screen panels.

22. The screen panel assembly of claim 21, wherein each of said frames is adapted to support at least one of said one or more inclined screen surfaces.

23. The screen panel assembly of claim 21, wherein said frame comprising at least one of said plurality of raised screen components further comprises a wedge surface that is adapted to disrupt a flow of a material mixture along said screen panel.

24. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein at least one of said plurality of raised screen components is adapted to be removably coupled to a respective one of said plurality of screen panels.

25. The screen panel assembly of claim 10, wherein a height of at least one of said plurality of raised screen components relative to a top surface of a respective one of said plurality of screen panels is different than a height of at least one other one of said plurality of raised screen components.

26. A modular screen panel assembly, comprising:

a plurality of modular screen sub-panels, wherein each one of said plurality of modular screen sub-panels comprises a base that is adapted to be interchangeably coupled to one or more other ones of said plurality of modular screen sub-panels; and

a plurality of modular raised screen components, wherein each of said plurality of modular raised screen components is adapted to be interchangeably coupled to said base of each of said plurality of modular screen sub-panels.

27. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 26, wherein each of said plurality of modular raised screen components comprises a frame that is adapted to be removably coupled to a base of a respective one of said plurality of modular screen panels.

28. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 26, wherein each of said plurality of modular raised screen components comprises an inclined screen surface that defines a first plane that is oriented at an angle relative to a second plane that is defined by a base of a respective one of said plurality of modular screen sub-panels, said first plane being substantially perpendicular to a displacement vector along which said modular screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

29. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 28, wherein said angle of said first plane relative to said second plane is between approximately 35°

and 55°

.

30. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 26, wherein said plurality of modular screen sub-panels are arranged across said modular screen panel assembly in a plurality of rows that are substantially perpendicular to a flow direction of a material mixture flowing along said modular screen panel assembly, and wherein centerlines of said plurality of modular raised screen components in a first one of said plurality of rows are offset relative to said flow direction from centerlines of said plurality of modular raised screen components in a second one of said plurality of rows.

31. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 30, further comprising a plurality of flow gaps, wherein each of said plurality of flow gaps is disposed between adjacent pairs of said plurality of modular raised screen components.

32. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 31, wherein said plurality of flow gaps between adjacent pairs of said plurality of modular raised screen components in said first one of said plurality of rows are substantially aligned with said centerlines of said plurality of modular raised screen components in said second one of said plurality of rows.

33. The modular screen panel assembly of claim 31, wherein said plurality of flow gaps forms a substantially serpentine flow path along said modular screen panel assembly.
