Abstract

A transmission method includes modulating a transmission signal using a modulation scheme selected from a plurality of modulation schemes, to generate a first symbol sequence and generating at least one second symbol including a pilot symbol generated using a PSK modulation scheme. The method includes changing an insertion interval of the second symbol to be inserted in the first symbol sequence, to generate a modulation signal and transmitting the modulation signal. The second symbol is configured for synchronization in a reception apparatus.

Claims

1. A transmission method comprising:

modulating a transmission signal using a modulation scheme selected from a plurality of modulation schemes, to generate a first symbol sequence;

generating at least one second symbol including a pilot symbol generated using a PSK modulation scheme;

changing an insertion interval of the second symbol to be inserted in the first symbol sequence, to generate a modulation signal; and

transmitting the modulation signal, wherein

the second symbol is configured to perform synchronization in a reception apparatus.

2. The transmission method according to claim 1, wherein the first symbol sequence is arranged on a time axis.

3. The transmission method according to claim 1, wherein the PSK modulation scheme is a BPSK modulation or a QPSK modulation.

4. A transmission apparatus comprising:

a first symbol generator that modulates a transmission signal using a modulation scheme selected from a plurality of modulation schemes, to generate a first symbol sequence;

a second symbol generator that generates at least one second symbol including a pilot symbol generated using a PSK modulation scheme;

a frame configurator that changes an insertion interval of the second symbol to be inserted in the first symbol sequence, to generate a modulation signal; and

a transmitter that transmits the modulation signal, wherein

the second symbol is configured to perform synchronization in a reception apparatus.

5. The transmission apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the first symbol sequence is arranged on a time axis.

6. The transmission apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the PSK modulation scheme is a BPSK modulation or a QPSK modulation.

7. A reception method comprising:

receiving a modulation signal transmitted from a transmission apparatus;

extracting a second symbol from the received modulation signal and estimating synchronization of the modulation signal using the second symbol, to generate a synchronization estimation signal; and

outputting a received data signal from a first symbol sequence included in the modulation signal, using the synchronization estimation signal, wherein

the modulation signal is generated by;

inserting at least one second symbol, including a pilot symbol generated using a PSK modulation scheme, in a first symbol sequence generated using a modulation scheme selected from a plurality of modulation schemes; and

changing an insertion interval of the second symbol.

8. The reception method according to claim 7, wherein the plurality of modulation schemes include M-ary modulation schemes of two or more kinds.

9. The reception method according to claim 7, wherein the PSK modulation scheme is a BPSK modulation or a QPSK modulation.

10. The reception method according to claim 7, wherein the first symbol sequence is arranged on a time axis.

11. A reception apparatus comprising:

a receiver that receives a modulation signal transmitted from a transmission apparatus.

a synchronization estimator that extracts a second symbol from the received modulation signal and estimates synchronization of the modulation signal using the second symbol, to generate a synchronization estimation signal; and

a detector that outputs a received data signal from a first symbol sequence included in the modulation signal, using the synchronization estimation signal, wherein

the modulation signal is generated by;

inserting at least one second symbol, including a pilot symbol generated using a PSK modulation scheme, in a first symbol sequence generated using a modulation scheme selected from a plurality of modulation schemes; and

changing an insertion interval of the second symbol.

12. The reception apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the plurality of modulation schemes include M-ary modulation schemes of two or more kinds.

13. The reception apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the PSK modulation scheme is a BPSK modulation or a QPSK modulation.

14. The reception apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the first symbol sequence is arranged on a time axis.
