Abstract

The present disclosure generally relates to a computer implemented system and method for automatically generating insurance policy related data. The system and method may determine a vehicle operator and generate empirical vehicle operator identity data. The system and method may further acquire empirical vehicle operation data related to the actual vehicle operator, and correlate the empirical vehicle operator identity data and the empirical vehicle operation data to generate vehicle insurance policy related data. The system and method may further include processing one or more insurance options, including underwriting and pricing, based at least in part on the vehicle insurance policy related data.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method for automatically generating insurance policy related data, the method comprising:

receiving, at one or more processors, empirical vehicle operator identity data, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data is representative of an identity of a vehicle operator;

receiving, at one or more processors, empirical vehicle operation data, wherein the empirical vehicle operation data is representative of an actual vehicle operator, and the empirical vehicle operation data is based at least partially on vehicle sensor data;

correlating, by one or more processors, at least a portion of the empirical vehicle operator identity data with at least a portion of the empirical vehicle operation data; and

generating, by one or more processors, vehicle insurance policy related data based, at least in part, on the correlated empirical vehicle operator identity data and empirical vehicle operation data.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, at one or more processors, known vehicle operator identity data, wherein the known vehicle operator identity data is representative of one or more vehicle operators that are insured to operate at least one vehicle; and

receiving, at one or more processors, real-time vehicle operator identity data, wherein the real-time vehicle operator identity data is representative of a person sitting in a vehicle driver'"'"'s seat.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data is based on a comparison of the known vehicle operator identity data with the real-time vehicle operator identity data.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein operation of an associated vehicle is enabled when the comparison of the real-time vehicle operator identity data with the known vehicle operator identity data indicates a match.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving, at one or more processors, real-time vehicle operator identity data, wherein the real-time vehicle operator identity data is representative of a physical condition of a person sitting in a vehicle driver'"'"'s seat.

The method of claim 1, wherein the vehicle sensor data is received from at least one vehicle sensor selected from a group of sensors that includes a light sensor, a pressure sensor, a seat belt sensor, a seat occupancy sensor, an image sensor, a vehicle telematics system sensor, a steering wheel angle sensor, a vibration sensor, a vehicle pitch sensor, facial recognition sensor, fingerprint sensor, eye scan sensor, a vehicle yaw sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, a vehicle brake sensor, a steering wheel hand sensor, an air bag sensor, a microphone, an ultrasonic sensor or an infrared sensor.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data is based, at least in part on, data received from an image sensor, a microphone, facial recognition sensor, fingerprint sensor, eye scan sensor, or a seat occupant weight sensor.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

processing, by one or more processors, one or more insurance options including underwriting and pricing, based at least in part on the correlated empirical vehicle operator identity data and empirical vehicle operation data.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, at one or more processors, known passenger identity data, wherein the known vehicle passenger identity data is representative of one or more vehicle passengers; and

receiving, at one or more processors, real-time vehicle passenger identity data, wherein the real-time vehicle passenger identity data is representative of a person sitting in a seat other than the vehicle driver'"'"'s seat.

10. A system for automatically generating vehicle insurance policy related data, the system comprising:

an empirical vehicle operator identity data acquisition module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to acquire empirical vehicle operator identity data, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data is representative of an identity of a vehicle operator;

an empirical vehicle operation data acquisition module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to acquire empirical vehicle operation data, wherein the empirical vehicle operation data is representative of an actual vehicle operator; and

a vehicle insurance policy data generation module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to generate vehicle insurance policy related data based, at least in part, on the empirical vehicle operator identity data and the empirical vehicle operation data.

11. The system of claim 10, further comprising:

a data correlation module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to correlate at least a portion of the empirical vehicle operator identity data with at least a portion of the empirical vehicle operation data, wherein the vehicle insurance policy related data is based, at least in part, on the correlated empirical vehicle operator identity data and empirical vehicle operation data.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data and the empirical vehicle operation data are time stamped and the correlation is based, at least in part, on the time stamp.

13. The system of claim 10, further comprising:

a known vehicle operator identity data receiving module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to receive known vehicle operator identity data, wherein the known vehicle operator identity data is representative of one or more vehicle operators that are insured to operate at least one vehicle; and

a real-time vehicle operator identity data receiving module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to receive real-time vehicle operator identity data, wherein the real-time vehicle operator identity data is representative of a person sitting in a vehicle driver'"'"'s seat.

14. The system of claim 10, further comprising:

a vehicle sensor data receiving module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to receive vehicle sensor data, wherein the empirical vehicle operation data is based, at least in part, on the vehicle sensor data.

15. The system of claim 10, further comprising:

a vehicle insurance rate calculation module stored on a memory that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to calculate a vehicle insurance rate based, at least in part, on the vehicle insurance policy data.

16. A tangible, computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a process, cause the processor to automatically generate vehicle insurance policy related data, the instructions comprising:

an empirical vehicle operator identity data acquisition module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to acquire empirical vehicle operator identity data, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data is representative of an identity of a vehicle operator;

an empirical vehicle operation data acquisition module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to acquire empirical vehicle operation data, wherein the empirical vehicle operation data is representative of an actual vehicle operator; and

a vehicle insurance policy data generation module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to generate vehicle insurance policy related data based, at least in part, on the empirical vehicle operator identity data and the empirical vehicle operation data.

17. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

a data correlation module, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to correlate at least a portion of the empirical vehicle operator identity data with at least a portion of the empirical vehicle operation data, wherein the vehicle insurance policy related data is based, at least in part, on the correlated empirical vehicle operator identity data and empirical vehicle operation data.

18. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 17, wherein the empirical vehicle operator identity data and the empirical vehicle operation data are time stamped and the correlation is based, at least in part, on the time stamp.

19. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

a known vehicle operator identity data receiving module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to receive known vehicle operator identity data, wherein the known vehicle operator identity data is representative of one or more vehicle operators that are insured to operate at least one vehicle; and

a real-time vehicle operator identity data receiving module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to receive real-time vehicle operator identity data, wherein the real-time vehicle operator identity data is representative of a person sitting in a vehicle driver'"'"'s seat.

20. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

a vehicle sensor data receiving module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to receive vehicle sensor data, wherein the empirical vehicle operation data is based, at least in part, on the vehicle sensor data.

21. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

a vehicle insurance rate calculation module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to calculate a vehicle insurance rate based, at least in part, on the vehicle insurance policy data.

22. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

an empirical vehicle data transmission module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to transmit the empirical vehicle operator identity data and the empirical vehicle operation data to a remote server.

23. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

a processing module that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to process one or more insurance options including underwriting and pricing, based at least in part on the correlated empirical vehicle operator identity data and empirical vehicle operation data.

24. The tangible, computer-readable medium of claim 16, further comprising:

a first receiving module that, when executed by a processor, receives known passenger identity data, wherein the known vehicle passenger identity data is representative of one or more vehicle passengers; and

a second receiving module that, when executed by a processor, receives real-time vehicle passenger identity data, wherein the real-time vehicle passenger identity data is representative of a person sitting in a seat other than the vehicle driver'"'"'s seat.
