Abstract

The disclosed embodiments include methods and systems for providing social discovery service operations. In one embodiment, a system for providing a social discovery service is disclosed. The system may be configured to receive transaction data relating to one or more purchase transactions involving one or more merchants and one or more consumers. The system may also be configured to receive product data identifying one or more products included in the one or more purchase transactions. The system may also receive location data associated with the one or more purchase transactions. Based on the transaction data, location data, and the product data, the system may be configured to generate one or more social discovery graphs. Further, the system may be configured to perform one or more social discovery operations based on the one or more social discovery graphs.

Claims

1. A system for providing a social discovery service, comprising:

one or more memory devices storing software instructions; and

one or more processors configured to execute the software instructions to;

receive transaction data relating to one or more purchase transactions involving one or more merchants and one or more consumers,

receive product data identifying one or more products included in the one or more purchase transactions,

receive location data associated with the one or more purchase transactions,

generate one or more social discovery graphs based on the transaction data, location data, and the product data, and

perform one or more social discovery operations based on the one or more social discovery graphs.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more social discovery graphs include at least one of a shopping graph reflecting a first consumption pattern associated with a first group of the consumers, a shopping graph reflecting one or more of the consumers involved in a purchase transaction with a first merchant, or a shopping graph reflecting one or more of the consumers and a first product included in the one or more products.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

identify a group of the one or more consumers who agree to fund an event based on the one or more social discovery graphs.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

determine a first trust level for a first of the one or more consumers;

determine a second trust level for a second of the one or more consumers, wherein the first trust level reflects a level of trust for performing a payment process with the second consumer and the second trust level reflects a level of trust for performing the payment process with the first consumer; and

provide the first trust level to at least the second consumer and provide the second trust level to at least the first consumer.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or ore processors are further configured to:

analyze the one or more social discovery graphs to determine a recommended gift idea associated with a first consumer of the one or more consumers.

6. The system claim 5, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

receive a gift recommendation request from a second consumer of the one or more consumers, wherein the gift recommendation request identifies the first user.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

monitor location data relating to the one or more consumers;

determine a social discovery event based on the one or more social discovery graphs and location data relating to the one or more consumers, the social discovery event reflecting that a certain number of the one or more consumers are within a certain location of a first merchant location; and

provide a notification to the first merchant of the social discovery event.

15. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more social discovery operations based on the one or more social discovery graphs includes a consumer-to-consumer social discovery operation, a business-to-business social discovery operation, a consumer-to-business social discovery operation, or a business-to-consumer social discovery operation.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the consumer-to-consumer social discovery operation includes receiving a first recommendation of a first merchant from a first consumer and providing the first recommendation to a second consumer through the social discovery service system, wherein the first consumer, the second consumer, and the first merchant are registered with the social discovery service system.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the business-to-consumer social discovery operation includes receiving a first offer from a first merchant and providing the first offer to a first consumer through the social discovery service system, wherein the first consumer and the first merchant are registered with the social discovery service system.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the first offer includes an offer for a discount on a product provided by the first merchant.

19. The system of claim 15, wherein the business-to-consumer social discovery operation includes receiving a first request relating to a first merchant from a first consumer, searching the one or more social discovery graphs in response to the first request to identify a first merchant that meets a search parameter included in the first request, and providing a response to the first request to the first consumer, wherein the first consumer and the first merchant are registered with the social discovery service system.

8. A computer-implemented method for providing social discovery service operations, comprising:

receiving, by one or more processors, transaction data relating to one or more purchase transactions involving one or more merchants and one or more consumers;

receiving, by the one or more processors, product data identifying one or more products included in the one or more purchase transactions;

receiving, by the one or more processors, location data associated with the one or more purchase transactions;

generating, by the one or more processors, one or more social discovery graphs based on the transaction data;

location data, and the product data; and

performing, by the one or more processors, one or more social discovery operations based on the one or more social discovery graphs.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the one or more discovery graphs include at least one of a shopping graph reflecting a first consumption pattern associated with a first group of the consumers, a shopping graph reflecting one or more of the consumers involved in a purchase transaction with a first merchant, or a shopping graph reflecting one or more of the consumers and a first product included in the one or more products.

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

identifying, by the one or more processors, a group of the one or more consumers who agree to fund an event based on the one or more social discovery graphs.

11. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

determining, by the one or more processors, a first trust level for a first of the one or more consumers;

determining, by the one or more processors, a second trust level for a second of the one or more consumers, wherein the first trust level reflects a level of trust for performing a payment process with the second consumer and the second trust level reflects a level of trust for performing the payment process with the first consumer; and

providing, by the one or more processors, the first trust level to at least the second consumer and providing the second trust level to at least the first consumer.

12. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

analyzing, by the one or more processors, the one or more social discovery graphs to determine a recommended gift idea associated with a first consumer of the one or more consumers.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving, by the one or more processors, a gift recommendation request from a second consumer of the one or more consumers, wherein the gift recommendation request identifies the first user.

14. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

monitoring, by the one or more processors, location data relating to the one or more consumers;

determining, by the one or more processors, a social discovery event based on the one or more social discovery graphs and location data relating to the one or ore consumers, the social discovery event reflecting that a certain number of the one or more consumers are within a certain location of a first merchant location; and

providing, by the one or more processors, to the first merchant, a notification of the social discovery event.

20. The method of claim 8, wherein performing one or more social discovery operations based on the one or more social discovery graphs includes performing a consumer-to-consumer social discovery operation, a business-to-business social discovery operation, a consumer-to-business social discovery operation, or a business-to-consumer social discovery operation.

21. The method of claim 8, wherein performing the consumer-to-consumer social discovery operation includes receiving a first recommendation of a first merchant from a first consumer and providing the first recommendation to a second consumer through the social discovery service system, wherein the first consumer, the second consumer, and the first merchant are registered with the social discovery service system.

22. The method of claim 8, wherein performing the business-to-consumer social discovery operation includes receiving a first offer from a first merchant and providing the first offer to a first consumer through the social discovery service system, wherein the first consumer and the first merchant are registered with the social discovery service system.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein the first offer includes an offer for a discount on a product provided by the first merchant.

24. The method of claim 20, wherein performing the business-to-consumer social discovery operation includes receiving a first request relating to a first merchant from a first consumer, searching the one or more social discovery graphs in response to the first request to identify a first merchant that meets a search parameter included in the first request, and providing a response to the first request to the first consumer, wherein the first consumer and the first merchant are registered with the social discovery service system.
