Abstract

A method of controlling an electronic apparatus that displays representative information is provided. The method includes displaying the content on a display unit, detecting a gesture for scrolling the content, scrolling the content upon the gesture being detected, extracting representative information of the content, displaying the representative information of the content, and stopping the scrolling of the content.

Claims

1. A method of controlling an electronic apparatus that displays representative information, the method comprising:

displaying the content on a display unit;

detecting a gesture for scrolling the content;

scrolling the content upon the gesture being detected;

extracting representative information of the content;

displaying the representative information of the content; and

stopping scrolling the content.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein displaying the representative information of the content when scrolling content.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the content comprises at least one of a calendar executed in a calendar application, a photograph executed in a gallery application, a book page executed in an e-book application, and a list item included in a list view.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the display unit is formed with a touch screen.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the gesture comprises one of a drag and a flick with respect to the content on a touch screen forming the display unit.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the gesture comprises one of a drag and a flick of a scroll bar.

7. The method according to claim 1, further comprising:

extracting information with a highest priority among plural items of information included in the content, as the representative information when extracting the representative information of the content.

8. The method according to claim 1, wherein the representative information comprises at least one of fixed information, variable information, and user designated information when extracting the representative information of the content.

9. The method according to claim 8, wherein the fixed information comprises at least one of a title, a tag, and a table of contents of the content.

10. The method according to claim 8, wherein the variable information comprises at least one of the number of views of the content and the number of touch events.

11. The method according to claim 1, wherein the representative information is displayed in a stopped manner when displaying the representative information of the content.

12. An electronic apparatus that displays representative information, the apparatus comprising:

a controller that controls to display the content, detects a gesture for scrolling the content, scrolls the content upon the gesture being detected, extracts the representative information of the content, controls to display the representative information of the content, and stops scrolling the content;

a display unit that displays the content and the representative information of the content; and

a storage unit that stores the content.

13. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the display unit that displays the content and the representative information of the content when scrolling content.

14. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the content comprises at least one of a calendar executed in a calendar application, a photograph executed in a gallery application, a book page executed in an e-book application, and a list item included in a list view.

15. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the display unit is formed with a touch screen.

16. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the gesture comprises a drag and a flick with respect to the content on a touch screen forming the display unit.

17. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the gesture comprises a drag and a flick of a scroll bar.

18. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the controller extracts information with a highest priority among plural items of information included in the content, as the representative information, when extracting the representative information of the content.

19. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the representative information comprises at last one of fixed information, variable information, and user designated information when the controller extracts the representative information of the content.

20. The apparatus according to claim 19, wherein the fixed information comprises at least one of a title, a tag, and a table of contents of the content.

21. The apparatus according to claim 19, wherein the variable information comprises at least one of the number of views of the content and the number of touch events.

22. The apparatus according to claim 12, wherein the representative information is displayed in a stopped manner when the controller displays the representative information of the content.
