1. A vehicle detection and image capture system, comprising:
- a first radio frequency identification tag fixed at a location relative to a road;
a first radio frequency identification reader positioned to interrogate the first radio frequency identification tag; and
a first camera;
wherein a vehicle is detected at the location of the first radio frequency identification tag when the first radio frequency identification reader fails to receive a response from the first radio frequency identification tag during interrogation, and the camera captures an image of the vehicle.

14. A vehicle detection system and image capture system comprising:
-
a first and a second radio frequency identification tag fixed at different locations relative to a road; and a first radio frequency identification reader positioned to interrogate the first radio frequency identification tag; a camera; wherein a vehicle is detected at the location of the first radio frequency identification tag when the first radio frequency identification reader fails to receive a response from the first radio frequency identification tag during interrogation, wherein the vehicle is detected at the location of the second radio frequency identification tag when the first radio frequency identification reader fails to receive a response from the second radio frequency identification tag during interrogation, and wherein the speed of the vehicle is calculated for travel between the first and second radio frequency identification tags; and wherein the camera captures an image of the vehicle. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22)
