Abstract

A display apparatus is provided with an information acquisition unit which obtains a current focusing position and a display control unit which generates display data for displaying a focus aid. The focus aid indicates a focusing range and current focusing position, and is displayed in a captured image, such as a live view image.

Claims

1. A control method for displaying focus state information, the control method comprising:

obtaining information of a focusing range based on a photographing lens information;

calculating a current focusing position for a given point or target object in an image being captured;

generating display data which indicates the focusing range obtained and the current focusing position calculated; and

displaying the display data in association with the image being captured.

2. The control method according to claim 1, wherein

a size of display which indicates the focusing range is normalized.

3. The control method according to claim 1, further comprising:

measuring a distance to the target object,

wherein the display data further indicates the object distance measured.

4. The control method according to claim 1, further comprising:

obtaining information of depth of field,

wherein the display data further indicates the depth of field obtained.

5. The control method according to claim 1, wherein the given point is

a point designated by a user.

6. The control method according to claim 1, wherein

the act of displaying displays the display data overlaid on the image which is being captured.

7. Apparatus comprising:

(a) an image capturing unit which captures an object via a photographing lens and obtains the captured image;

(b) a first information acquisition unit which obtains information of a focusing range based on the information regarding the photographing lens;

(c) a second information acquisition unit which obtains a current focusing position;

(d) a focus aid generation unit which generates display data for displaying a focus aid which indicates the focusing range and current focusing position; and

(e) a display control unit which displays the focus aid.

8. The display apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

the focus aid generation unit normalizes a display size of an element indicating the focusing range.

9. The display apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising:

(f) a third information acquisition unit which measures a distance to the object,

and wherein the focus aid generation unit adds a display which indicates the distance the object on the focus aid display.

10. The display apparatus according to claim 9, further comprising:

(g) a fourth information acquisition unit which obtains information of depth of field,

and wherein the focus aid generation unit adds a display which indicates the depth of field on the focus aid display.

11. The display apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

the current focusing position is defined at a point in the captured image manually designated by a user.

12. The display apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

the display control unit adds the focus aid display on a display of the captured image.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing processor executable instructions which, when executed by a least processor, to perform a method comprising:

obtaining information of a focusing range based on a photographing lens information;

calculating a current focusing position for a given point or target object in an image being captured;

generating display data which indicates the focusing range obtained and the current focusing position calculated; and

displaying the display data in association with the image being captured.
