1. A device for efficient local data storage and remote supplementation and correction, comprising:
- a local control system, comprising a processor, capable of delivering a consumption feed to a user;
a local data storage device comprising file storage with an at least partially incomplete data distribution, wherein;
said partially incomplete data distribution comprises a data density based on Media Depth;
a network access device capable of communications with another control unit and/or device, which is capable of supplementing said data density of said local data storage device and said consumption feed;
a reference media device comprising patterns configured for use by the local control system in building said data density based on Media Depth.

Abstract
New data storage devices and techniques are provided. In some aspects of the invention, a new remote supplementation based media and system are provided. A local file and control system comprises a data density distribution that varies depending on Media Depth. A remote supplementation source and control system are also provided in a common network with the local control system. The local control system reports local file attributes, authorization and factors impacting media depth in real time, and the supplementation control system delivers permanent and streaming data corrections, supplementation and format updates to the local control system. In additional aspects of the invention, a patterned reference media device aids in building the local data density distribution. In some embodiments, the 3D arrangement, or other attributes, of structural storage device elements may serve as the patterned reference device.

19. A method for data storage and use, comprising the following steps:

creating a physical, tangible reference material device by selecting a randomly-patterned substrate; preparing said reference material by identifying repeating, similar or relatable patterns within the reference material, in comparison to data; ranking each of said repeating, similar or relatable patterns according to the projected efficiency of using said repeating, similar or relatable patterns in techniques for storing data; applying at least some of said repeating, similar or relatable patterns based on said ranking for storing data as a recorded relationship to said repeating, similar or relatable patterns in data storage hardware. - View Dependent Claims (20)
