display a list of video items for the plural video data, each of the vide items comprising a still image having a first size, and title information for a corresponding one of the plural video data, andpre-play, in response to a selection of at least one of the video items, the video data corresponding to the selected video item in a form of a thumbnail having a second size greater than the first size, the video item list being continuously displayed during the pre-play,wherein a starting point of the pre-play is determined based on information about a previous play position of the video data.

A user interface for displaying and playing multimedia contents is capable of allowing the user to easily recognize information about multimedia contents at a glance, and allowing the user to more easily retrieve desired information, through an image pre-play function. An apparatus includes the user interface, and a control method for the apparatus are includes displaying a sorting item of a multimedia content, and arranging file information included in the sorting item and having the form of a playable image.
