Abstract

A chewing gum with a liquid-fill composition and a surrounding gum region, with one or both containing active ingredients, such as herbal, medicinal and/or mineral elements or combinations thereof, present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg.

Claims

1. A chewing gum product consisting essentially of a first substance configured so as to have at least one cavity capable of retaining a liquid or semi-liquid substance as a second substance, wherein at least said first substance has an active ingredient consisting essentially of tomatidine and at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of calcium, dexatrim, oatmeal fiber, a vitamin, a mineral supplement, a medicinal component, a lipid substance (HDL), a mineral supplement, a chemotherapeutic agent, a diuretic, an antacid, an antibiotic, a herbal component, a stimulant, a metabolic enhancer, siberian ginseng, vitamin E, green tea, zinc, casgara sagrada mahuang, apple pectin, astragalus, dandelion, guarana, chickweek, bee pollen, gymnema sylvestre, chromium picolinate, licorice, bluegreen algae, bladderwrack, royal jelly, ginger, damiana, magnesium, lecithin, sarsaparilla, gotu kola, golden seal, nettles, chitosan, and combinations thereof, said active ingredient present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg, wherein said second substance includes tomatidine and said at least one ingredient, said at least one ingredient in said first substance being the same as said at least one ingredient in said second substance.

11. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is calcium.

12. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a vitamin.

13. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a mineral supplement.

14. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a medical component.

15. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a chemotherapeutic agent.

16. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a diuretic.

17. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is an antacid.

18. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is an antibiotic.

19. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is an herbal component.

20. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a stimulant.

21. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is a metabolic enhancer.

22. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is chromium picolinate.

23. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said active ingredients are present in a controlled release formulation.

24. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said active ingredients are microencapsulated.

25. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is Siberian ginsing.

26. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is Vitamin E.

27. The chewing gum product as set forth in claim 1, wherein said at least one ingredient is green tea.

2. A chewing gum product consisting essentially of a first substance configured so as to have at least one cavity capable of retaining a liquid or semi-liquid substance as a second substance, wherein at least said first substance has an active ingredient consisting essentially of tomatidine and at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of calcium, dexatrim, oatmeal fiber, a vitamin, a mineral supplement, a medicinal component, a lipid substance (HDL), a mineral supplement, a chemotherapeutic agent, a diuretic, an antacid, an antibiotic, a herbal component, a stimulant, a metabolic enhancer, siberian ginseng, vitamin E, green tea, zinc, casgara sagrada, mahuang, apple pectin, astragalus, dandelion, guarana, chickweek, bee pollen, gymnema sylvestre, chromium picolinate, licorice, bluegreen algae, bladderwrack, royal jelly, ginger, damiana, magnesium, lecithin, sarsaparilla, gotu kola, golden seal, nettles, chitosan, and combinations thereof, said active ingredient present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg, wherein said second substance includes tomatidine and said at least one ingredient, said at least one ingredient in said first substance is different from said at least one ingredient in said second substance.
