Abstract

A system and method distributing healthcare database access is disclosed. The system and method interpose a data mapping server (DMS) between a data request user server (DRS) and data service user server (DSS) to manage data transfers between the DSS and the DRS such that disparate database characteristics of the DRS/DSS are accommodated in real-time and permit asynchronous healthcare activity to be triggered. The DMS operates with a data access matrix (DAM) having each referenced DRS/DSS intersection pair associated with read/write control processes (RWP) that include read data (RDD) and write data (WRD) processes to permit data access across the disparate DRS/DSS database boundaries. The DAM may have multiple dimensions to accommodate asynchronously activated process threads within an overall patient healthcare plan (PHP) that operate to trigger healthcare provider alarms and other activity associated with the transfer/update of data between the DSS and the DRS.

Claims

1. A distributed healthcare database system comprising:

(a) data mapping server (DMS);

(b) data request server (DRS);

(c) data service server (DSS); and

(d) computer communication network (CCN);

wherein

said DMS is configured to establish communication with said DRS via said CCN;

said DMS is configured to establish communication with said DSS via said CCN;

said DMS is configured to associate a data access matrix (DAM) with the transfer of data between a database (DRD) controlled by said DRS and a database (DSD) controlled by said DSS;

said DAM is configured to be accessed by indexes associated with individual data item (IDI) datums associated with said DRS and said DSS;

said DAM is configured to associate an access control list (ACL) between said DRS and said DSS that is stored within said DAM and located by said DAM indexes;

said DAM is configured to associate a data transfer between said DRS and said DSS via a data mapping process (DMP) reference stored within said DAM and located by said DAM indexes;

said DMS is configured to transfer data between said DRS and said DSS by activating said DMP referenced within said DAM; and

said DMP when activated by said DMS transfers data between said DRS and said DSS using a predefined data transfer mode (DTM) limited by said ACL.

2. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DTM is selected from a group consisting of:

read;

write; and

update.

3. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on said DTM.

4. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on said DTM with said DTM selected from a group consisting of:

read;

write; and

update.

5. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of patient data collected from a mobile user device (MUD).

6. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of said DMP when processing data from a medical instrumentation device (MID) that is selected from a group consisting of:

weight scale;

pulse oximeter;

blood pressure meter; and

blood glucose meter.

7. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on the access to data within a patient history database (PHD).

8. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of a data mapping process (DMP) referenced within said DAM, said HAP comprising an asynchronous processing thread within a patient healthcare plan (PHP).

9. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DMS is configured to scan said DAM for alternate data transfers related to servers other than said DRS and said DSS and trigger DMPs associated with said alternate data transfers.

10. The distributed healthcare database system of claim 1 wherein said DAM is configured to trigger an alert within a patient healthcare plan (PHP) when said DMP is activated.

11. A distributed healthcare database method comprising:

(1) with a data mapping server (DMS), establishing communication with a data request server (DRS) via a computer communication network (CCN);

(2) with said DMS, establishing communication with a data service server (DSS) via said CCN;

(3) with said DMS, associating a data access matrix (DAM) with the transfer of data between a database (DRD) controlled by said DRS and a database (DSD) controlled by said DSS;

(4) with said DMS, configuring said DAM to be accessed by indexes associated with individual data item (IDI) datums associated with said DRS and said DSS;

(5) with said DMS, configuring said DAM to associate an access control list (ACL) between said DRS and said DSS that is stored within said DAM and located by said DAM indexes;

(6) with said DMS, configuring said DAM to associate a data transfer between said DRS and said DSS via a data mapping process (DMP) reference stored within said DAM and located by said DAM indexes;

(7) with said DMS, transferring data between said DRS and said DSS by activating said DMP referenced within said DAM; and

(8) with said DMS, executing said DMP to transfer data between said DRS and said DSS using a predefined data transfer mode (DTM) limited by said ACL.

12. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DTM is selected from a group consisting of:

read;

write; and

update.

13. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on said DTM.

14. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on said DTM with said DTM selected from a group consisting of:

read;

write; and

update.

15. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of patient data collected from a mobile user device (MUD).

16. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of said DMP when processing data from a medical instrumentation device (MID) that is selected from a group consisting of:

weight scale;

pulse oximeter;

blood pressure meter; and

blood glucose meter.

17. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on the access to data within a patient history database (PHD).

The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of a data mapping process (DMP) referenced within said DAM, said HAP comprising an asynchronous processing thread within a patient healthcare plan (PHP).

19. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DMS is configured to scan said DAM for alternate data transfers related to servers other than said DRS and said DSS and trigger DMPs associated with said alternate data transfers.

20. The distributed healthcare database method of claim 11 wherein said DAM is configured to trigger an alert within a patient healthcare plan (PHP) when said DMP is activated.

21. A tangible non-transitory computer usable medium having computer-readable program code means embodied thereon comprising a distributed healthcare database method comprising:

(1) with a data mapping server (DMS), establishing communication with a data request server (DRS) via a computer communication network (CCN);

(2) with said DMS, establishing communication with a data service server (DSS) via said CCN;

(3) with said DMS, associating a data access matrix (DAM) with the transfer of data between a database (DRD) controlled by said DRS and a database (DSD) controlled by said DSS;

(4) with said DMS, configuring said DAM to be accessed by indexes associated with individual data item (IDI) datums associated with said DRS and said DSS;

(5) with said DMS, configuring said DAM to associate an access control list (ACL) between said DRS and said DSS that is stored within said DAM and located by said DAM indexes;

(6) with said DMS, configuring said DAM to associate a data transfer between said DRS and said DSS via a data mapping process (DMP) reference stored within said DAM and located by said DAM indexes;

(7) with said DMS, transferring data between said DRS and said DSS by activating said DMP referenced within said DAM; and

(8) with said DMS, executing said DMP to transfer data between said DRS and said DSS using a predefined data transfer mode (DTM) limited by said ACL.

22. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DTM is selected from a group consisting of:

read;

write; and

update.

23. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on said DTM.

24. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on said DTM with said DTM selected from a group consisting of:

read;

write; and

update.

25. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of patient data collected from a mobile user device (MUD).

26. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of said DMP when processing data from a medical instrumentation device (MID) that is selected from a group consisting of:

weight scale;

pulse oximeter;

blood pressure meter; and

blood glucose meter.

27. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered based on the access to data within a patient history database (PHD).

28. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM comprises a healthcare activity process (HAP) that is triggered on activation of a data mapping process (DMP) referenced within said DAM, said HAP comprising an asynchronous processing thread within a patient healthcare plan (PHP).

29. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DMS is configured to scan said DAM for alternate data transfers related to servers other than said DRS and said DSS and trigger DMPs associated with said alternate data transfers.

30. The computer usable medium of claim 21 wherein said DAM is configured to trigger an alert within a patient healthcare plan (PHP) when said DMP is activated.
