Abstract

A resource management method and apparatus allows or restricts use of some or all of the resources of entities of a wireless communication system. A radio resource management method of a radio access point includes receiving a measurement report from a terminal, selecting another radio access point for serving the terminal in cooperation with the serving radio access point based on the measurement report and a Handover Restriction List (HRL), and transmitting a request for serving the terminal to the selected another radio access point.

Claims

1. A radio resource management method of a radio access point, the method comprising:

receiving a measurement report from a terminal;

selecting another radio access point for serving the terminal in cooperation with the radio access point based on the measurement report and a Handover Restriction List (HRL); and

transmitting a request for serving the terminal to the selected other radio access point.

The method of claim 1, wherein the HRL comprises at least one of a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The method of claim 1, wherein the selecting of the other radio access point comprises selecting the other radio access point based on at least one of whether the other radio access point is included in resource restricted by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in resource allowed by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in the resource allowed by a subscriber profile identifier of the terminal, or whether the other radio access point has same feature as a primary radio access point.

The method of claim 1, wherein the request comprises at least one of the HRL, a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a response from the other radio access point in response to the request,

wherein the response is one of an accept message or a reject message depending on whether the other radio access point is restricted in the HRL.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the HRL comprises information for restricting the resource to be used for at least one of Carrier Aggregation or Coordinate Multi-Point transmission and reception (CoMP) of the terminal.

7. A radio resource management method of a radio access point, the method comprising:

receiving a request for serving a terminal from another radio access which serves the terminal currently;

determining whether to serve the terminal in cooperation with the other radio access point based on a Handover Restriction List (HRL); and

transmitting a response to the other radio access point depending on the determination result.

The method of claim 7, wherein the HRL comprises at least one of a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The method of claim 7, wherein the request comprises at least one of the HRL, a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The method of claim 7, wherein the determining whether to serve the terminal comprises determining whether to serve the terminal based on at least one of whether the other radio access point is included in resource restricted by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in resource allowed by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in the resource allowed by a subscriber profile identifier of the terminal, or whether the other radio access point has same feature as a primary radio access point.

11. The method of claim 7, further comprising performing, when the response is an accept message, a connection procedure with the terminal.

12. The method of claim 7, wherein the response message comprises, when the response is a reject message, information about a rejection cause.

13. A radio access point for managing radio resource, the radio access point comprising:

a communication unit configured to transmit and receive data; and

a controller configured to control to;

select, when a measurement report is received from a terminal, another radio access point for serving the terminal in cooperation with the radio access point based on the measurement report and a Handover Restriction List (HRL); and

transmit, via the communication unit, a request for serving the terminal to the selected another radio access point.

The radio access point of claim 13, wherein the HRL comprises at least one of a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The radio access point of claim 13, wherein the controller is configured to control to select the other radio access point based on at least one of whether the other radio access point is included in resource restricted by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in resource allowed by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in the resource allowed by a subscriber profile identifier of the terminal, or whether the other radio access point has same feature as a primary radio access point.

The radio access point of claim 13, wherein the request comprises at least one of the HRL, a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The radio access point of claim 13, wherein the communication unit is configured to receive a response from the other radio access point in response to the request, the response being one of an accept message or a reject message depending on whether the other radio access point is restricted in the HRL.

18. The radio access point of claim 13, wherein the HRL comprises information for restricting the resource to be used for at least one of Carrier Aggregation or Coordinate Multi-Point transmission and reception (CoMP) of the terminal.

19. A radio access point for managing radio resource, the radio access point comprising:

a communication unit configured to transmit and receive data; and

a controller configured to control to;

determine, when a request requesting for serving a terminal is received from another radio access which serves the terminal currently;

determine whether to serve the terminal based on a Handover Restriction List (HRL) in cooperation with the other radio access point; and

transmit, via the communication unit, a response to the other radio access point depending on the determination result.

The radio access point of claim 19, wherein the HRL comprises at least one of a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The radio access point of claim 19, wherein the request comprises at least one of the HRL, a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier, an equivalent PLMN identifier, a Tracking Area (TA) code, a TA identifier, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) code, an MME group identifier, or a Physical Cell Identity (PCI).

The radio access point of claim 19, wherein the controller is configured to control to determine whether to serve the terminal based on at least one of whether the other radio access point is included in resource restricted by the HRL, whether the ether radio access point is included in resource allowed by the HRL, whether the other radio access point is included in the resource allowed by a subscriber profile identifier of the terminal, or whether the other radio access point has same feature as a primary radio access point.

23. The radio access point of claim 19, wherein the controller unit is configured to perform, when the response is an accept message, a connection procedure with the terminal
