The device includes an elongated body configured for delivering projections arranged around a distal portion thereof into the biological vessel. Each of the projections includes a leaf-like structure connected to a stem portion having a higher axial rigidity than the leaf-like structure.

19. A method of removing a thrombus from a blood vessel comprising:

(a) positioning in the blood vessel a device including a plurality of projections, each of said plurality of projections includes a leaf-like structure connected to a stem portion having a higher axial rigidity than said leaf-like structure; and (b) advancing said plurality of projections distally into a thrombus material; and (c) pulling said projections proximally to thereby penetrate, dislodge and collect said thrombus material. - View Dependent Claims (20)
