Abstract

Embodiments contemplate wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) transmissions of different types of uplink channels and/or signals in a system deployment where multiple destination points may exist. Some embodiments contemplate that a WTRU may select the destination point of a transmission on a dynamic basis. In one or more systems where destination point selection from among multiple potential destination points may be possible for a WTRU transmission, some embodiments contemplate the determination of the handling of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) retransmissions and for different power headroom reporting mechanisms. Embodiments also contemplate the reduction and/or inhibition of WTRU transmissions to destination points to which the WTRU may have lost connectivity.

Claims

1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising:

a processor, the processor configured, at least, to;

select at least one Uplink Transmission Context (UTC), the at least one UTC corresponding to one or more characteristics and to at least one reception point;

select at least one of the one or more characteristics; and

initiate a transmission to the at least one reception point based, at least, on the at least one of the one or more characteristics, wherein the selecting of at least one of;

the at least one UTC or the at least one of the one or more characteristics is done dynamically.

2. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the transmission includes an uplink transmission in a subframe of at least one of a channel or a signal.

3. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to select the at least one UTC from a plurality of Uplink Transmission Contexts (UTCs), each of the plurality of UTCs corresponding respectively to a plurality of reception points.

4. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the transmission includes one or more uplink transmissions in one or more subframes, and the processor is further configured such that the dynamic selection of

the at least one UTC or the at least one of the one or more characteristics is done on a subframe by subframe basis.

5. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the one or more characteristics include at least one of:

an uplink frequency, a bandwidth, a transmission power, a timing advance, or a timing alignment.

6. The WTRU of claim 2, wherein the one or more characteristics include at least one property that is specific to the transmitted channel or signal.

7. The WTRU of claim 6, wherein the at least one property includes at least one of:

a property of at least one demodulation reference signal;

a transmission format;

a resource;

or a property of at least one random access preamble.

8. The WTRU of claim 7, wherein the property of at least one demodulation reference signal may include one or more of:

a cyclic shift, a sequence group, or an antenna port.

9. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the at least one UTC corresponds to at least one of:

a set of one or more WTRU parameters, a set of one or more WTRU properties, or a set of one or more WTRU configured UTC variables.

10. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the at least one UTC corresponds to an uplink channel including at least one of:

a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), a physical random access channel (PRACH), or a sounding reference signal (SRS).

11. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to select the at least one UTC based at least in part on a reference signal measured on a downlink carrier.

12. The WTRU of claim 2, wherein the processor is further configured to select the at least UTC based, at least in part, on a received downlink control signaling corresponding to the uplink transmission.

13. The WTRU of claim 3, wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine a required transmit power for each of the plurality of UTCs;

determine a lowest required transmit power; and

select the at least one UTC based, at least in part, on the determined lowest required transmit power.

14. The wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising:

a processor, the processor configured, at least in part, to;

select at least one Uplink Transmission Context (UTC) corresponding to a transmission type;

determine a transmit power corresponding to the at least one UTC; and

initiate a transmission corresponding to the transmission type at the determined power.

15. The WTRU of claim 14, wherein the transmission type corresponds to at least one of a periodic sounding reference signal (SRS), an aperiodic SRS, a regular SRS, or a probing SRS;

and the transmission includes an uplink transmission in a subframe, the determined transmit power being for the subframe.

16. The WTRU of claim 15, wherein the transmit power is based, at least in part, on at least one of:

an uplink pathloss corresponding to the at least one UTC, a target received power corresponding to the at least one UTC, or a current SRS power control adjustment state.

17. The WTRU of claim 16, wherein the transmission type does not correspond to a physical uplink shared channel.

18. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising:

a processor, the processor configured, at least in part, to;

determine an initial value for cyclic shift (CS) hopping;

decouple the initial value for CS hopping from a f_ss^PUSCH; and

correlate the initial value for CS hopping to at least one Uplink Transmission Context (UTC).

19. The WTRU of claim 18, wherein the processor is further configured to apply a WTRU-specific adjustment to the initial value for CS hopping, the WTRU-specific adjustment being associated with the at least one UTC.

20. The WTRU of claim 19, wherein the WTRU-specific adjustment is dynamically assigned in an uplink-related downlink control information (DCI).

21. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising:

a processor, the processor configured, at least in part, to;

identify at least a first subframe set and a second subframe set of a plurality of subframe subsets;

allocate at least one uplink subframe from at least one of the first subframe set or the second subframe set; and

apply at least one of a first transmission power parameter or a second transmission power parameter to the at least one uplink subframe for transmission, the first transmission power parameter being a desired received power (P_o), and the second transmission parameter being a partial path-loss compensation.

22. The WTRU of claim 21, wherein the processor is further configured to receive a configuration including the plurality of subframe subsets.

23. The WTRU of claim 21, wherein the uplink subframe is transmitted via a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH).

24. The WTRU of claim 21, wherein the processor is further configured to maintain a transmission power command chain respectively for the first subframe set and the second subframe set.
