Abstract

Methods and systems utilize a shake and transfer process to initiate a wireless communication and provide a user device with time and location information of the communication, which can be associated with contact information of a user of the other device. As a result, a user has additional information associated with a contact, and the time and location information can be used to determine or track elapsed time and distance traveled between communications.

Claims

1. A system for wirelessly communicating information, comprising:

a memory storing contact information corresponding to user accounts; and

one or more hardware processors in communication with the memory and configured for;

determining a time based on a movement of a first device associated with a first user and a movement of at least a component in a second device associated with a second user;

determining a location based on the movement of the first device and the movement of at least a component of the second device;

transferring the time and the location to the first device;

locating the second user on a contact list of the first user; and

adding the time and the location to information corresponding to the second user on the contact list of the first user, without replacing previously stored time location for the second user, wherein the information comprises different times and locations an in-person meeting occurred between the first user and the second user.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more hardware processors is further configured for establishing a communication link between the first device and the second device based on the movement of the first device and the movement of at least a component of the second device.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first and second devices enables a user to enter information associated with the time and location information transferred.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein both the time and location information are transferred to the first and second devices.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the first and second devices are mobile devices.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the first device is a mobile device and the second device is a stationary device.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the information is visible to the first user on the first device when contact information for the second user is viewed.

8. A method of wirelessly communicating information, comprising:

transferring a first time information and a first location information to a first device associated with a first user through a communication link established between the first device and a second device associated with a second user based on a first movement of the first device and a first movement of at least a component in the second device, wherein the first time information is based on when the first location information is received;

transferring a second time information and a second location information to the first device through a communication link established between the first device and the second device based on a second movement of the first device and a second movement of at least a component in the second device, wherein the second location information is received after the first location information is received; and

determining at least one of an elapsed time and a distance between the first movements and the second movements.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein both the elapsed time and the distance are determined.

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising notifying at least one of the first device and the second device of the elapsed time or the distance.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the notifying is for both the elapsed time and the distance.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the first and second devices are mobile devices.

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the first device is a mobile device and the second device is a stationary device.

14. A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising a plurality of machine-readable instructions which when executed by one or more processors of a server are adapted to cause the server to perform a method comprising:

determining a time based on a movement of a first device associated with a first user and a movement of at least a component in a second device associated with a second user;

determining a location based on the movement of the first device and the movement of at least a component of the second device;

transferring the time and the location to the first device;

locating the second user on a contact list of the first user; and

adding the time and the location to information corresponding to the second user on the contact list of the first user, without replacing previously stored time location for the second user, wherein the information comprises different times and locations an in-person meeting occurred between the first user and the second user.

15. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14, wherein at least one of the first and second devices enables a user to enter information associated with the time and location information transferred.

16. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14, wherein both the time and location information are transferred to the first and second devices.

17. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14, wherein the information is visible to the first user on the first device when contact information for the second user is viewed.

18. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14, wherein the information is used to determine an elapsed time between a first and a second communication established based on movements of the first and second devices.

19. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14, wherein the information is used to determine a distance between a first and a second communication established based movements of the first and second devices.

20. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14, wherein the time and location information are used to determine an elapsed time and a distance between a first and a second communication established based movements of the first and second devices.
