Abstract

Interworking between a policy decision device and an address translation device is provided. An operation method of the policy decision device in a mobile communication system includes, if receiving address translation information about a user equipment, determining translated address information about the user equipment using the address translation information, if receiving a service information request for the user equipment, distinguishing the user equipment using address information included in the service information request and the translated address information, and sending a response to the service information request.

Claims

1. An operation method of a policy decision device in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

if receiving address translation information about a user equipment, determining translated address information about the user equipment using the address translation information;

if receiving a service information request for the user equipment, distinguishing the user equipment using address information comprised in the service information request and the translated address information; and

sending a response to the service information request.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising,

if it is a PUSH mode, subscribing provision of the address translation information about the user equipment;

if it is a PULL mode, if receiving the service information request for the user equipment, sending a request for the address translation information about the user equipment;

if receiving the address translation information about the user equipment, determining the translated address information about the user equipment in the address translation information;

distinguishing the user equipment using the address information comprised in the service information request and the translated address information; and

sending a response to the service information request.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the address translation information comprises a private address of the user equipment, a common address mapped to a port number of the private address, and a port number of the common address.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein distinguishing the user equipment using the address information comprised in the service information request and the translated address information comprises:

determining a common address that is the address information comprised in the service information request, a private address for the user equipment mapped to a port number of the common address, and a port number of the private address; and

distinguishing the user equipment that uses the private address and the port number of the private address.

5. An operation method of an address translation device in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

if detecting a service information request from a user equipment, determining address translation for the user equipment; and

transmitting address translation information about the user equipment.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising,

if it is a PUSH mode, receiving a subscription of provision of the address translation information about the user equipment;

if it is a PULL mode, if detecting the service information request from the user equipment, determining the address translation for the user equipment; and

if receiving a request for the address translation information about the user equipment, transmitting the address translation information about the user equipment.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the address translation information comprises a private address of the user equipment, a common address mapped to a port number of the private address, and a port number of the common address.

The method of claim 5, wherein, if detecting the service information request from the user equipment to an application, determining the address translation for the user equipment comprises determining a common address that is address information comprised in the service information request, a private address for the user equipment mapped to a port number of the common address, and a port number of the private address.

9. A policy decision device in a mobile communication system, the device comprising:

a modulator/demodulator (modem) configured to communicate with other devices; and

a controller configured to, if receiving address translation information about a user equipment, determine translated address information about the user equipment using the address translation information;

if receiving a service information request for the user equipment, distinguish the user equipment using address information comprised in the service information request and the translated address information; and

control the modem to send a response to the service information request.

10. The device of claim 9, wherein;

if it is a PUSH mode, the controller is configured to subscribe provision of the address translation information about the user equipment,

if it is a PULL mode, when receiving the service information request for the user equipment, the controller is configured to control the modem to send a request for the address translation information about the user equipment, and

if receiving the address translation information about the user equipment, the controller is configured to determine the translated address information about the user equipment in the address translation information, distinguish the user equipment using the address information comprised in the service information request and the translated address information, and control the modem to send a response to the service information request.

11. The device of claim 9, wherein the address translation information comprises a private address of the user equipment, a common address mapped to a port number of the private address, and a port number of the common address.

The device of claim 9, wherein, when distinguishing the user equipment using the address information comprised in the service information request and the translated address information, the controller is configured to determine a common address that is the address information comprised in the service information request, a private address for the user equipment mapped to a port number of the common address, and a port number of the private address;

and distinguish the user equipment that uses the private address and the port number of the private address,

13. An address translation device in a mobile communication system, the device comprising:

a modem configured to communicate with other devices; and

a controller configure to, if detecting a service information request from a user equipment, determine address translation for the user equipment, and control the modem to transmit address translation information about the user equipment.

14. The device of claim 13, wherein;

if it is a PUSH mode, the controller is configured to receive, via the modem, subscription of provision of the address translation information about the user equipment,

if it is a PULL mode, when detecting the service information request from the user equipment, the controller is configured determine the address translation for the user equipment and,

if receiving a request for the address translation information about the user equipment, the controller is configured to control the modem to transmit the address translation information about the user equipment.

The device of claim 13, wherein, if detecting the service information request from the user equipment to an application, when determining the address translation for the user equipment, the controller is configured to determine a common address that is address information comprised in the service information request, a private address for the user equipment to be mapped to a port number of the common address, and a port number of the private address.
