1. A universal over-the-door hook hanger comprising of a loading member for carrying an object, and a U hook comprising of:

  • a first vertical back plate,a second vertical front plate,a horizontal top plate integrally connected to top edges of said back plate and said front plate,a thread hole in one of said back plate and said front plate, anda thread bolt having an elongated thread stem and a turning knob;

    wherein;

    said loading member has a fixed end integrally connected to a bottom edge said front plate, and a free end rising upward for preventing said object from slipping out of said loading member;

    said back plate and said front plate form an opening of said U hook, and said back plate is apart from said front plate by a uniform distance that determines the size of said U hook;

    said top plate is placed immediately adjacent to a top edge of a door without clearance when said U hook is hung over said top edge of said door, and said top plate is a relatively thin plate so that it does not hit against a door jamb during closing of said door;

    said back plate is a relatively thin plate so that said door is capable of being fully closed when said U hook is hung over said door with said back plate facing a closing direction of said door;

    said front plate is a relatively thin plate so that said door is capable of being fully closed when said U hook is hung over said door with said front plate facing said closing direction of said door;

    said over-the-door hook hanger is capable of carrying said object on any of closing and opening sides of said door without preventing said door from being fully closed;

    said U hook is capable of performing a clamping action to positively secure said U hook to a door having thickness smaller than said size of said U hook, so that said over-the-door door hook hanger does not swing or shift position during opening and closing of said door;

    said clamping action is performed by horizontally engaging said thread bolt to said thread hole, and forcibly tightening said thread bolt against said door;

    said thread hole is provided at said front plate when said over-the-door hook hanger is used for carrying said object on said opening side of said door, so that said back plate on said closing side of said door is immediately adjacent to said door without clearance after performing said clamping action by engaging said thread bolt to said thread hole at said front plate; and

    said thread hole is provided at said back plate when said over-the-door hook hanger is used for carrying said object on said closing side of said door, so that said front plate on said closing side of said door is immediately adjacent to said door without clearance after performing said clamping action by engaging said thread bolt to said thread hole at said back plate.
