Abstract

A system and method for multifactor authentication and login using a smart wrist watch with at least one NFC (Near Field Communication) technology tag, with a computing device such as mobile, pda, tablets, laptop, desktop, or any similar system comprising user Authentication NFC login support and multifactor login support system or website wherein at least one NFC tag id arrayed in Smart Wrist watch is used for said device system or said website already registered at the time of sign up or setting user name and password is treated as second authentication factor.

Claims

1. The system for multi factor authentication and login consisting essentially of:

a smart wrist watch with atleast one NFC Tag;

a computing device (mobile, pda, tablets, laptop, desktop, or any similar system comprising user Authentication NFC login support);

multi factor login support system or website wherein atleast one NFC tag id for said device system or said website already registered at the time of sign up or setting user name and password is treated as second authentication factor.

2. A System of claim 1 wherein the NFC Tag is in the following group of, social networking sites, email accounts, bank accounts, remote computer, mobile phone, ipods, hand held devices and memory devices as per the user choice.

3. A System of claim 1 wherein the system allows for disabling multifactor authentication and login when the smart wrist watch is lost.

4. A System of claim 1 wherein the smart wrist watch consisting NFC mode and Time mode and user can select them by pressing mode button.

5. A system of claim 1 wherein during the NFC Mode the Smart Wrist Watch allows the user to select one of the NFC Tag id within fifteen seconds from the activation of the mode;

if the mode is not selected within fifteen seconds the mode will be changed to Time mode thereby preventing unauthorized use of the NFC Mode thus activated.

6. A Method of authenticating a user for accessing a resource, said method relying on multi-factor authentication of the user, the method comprising the steps of:

associating the user with registration information particulars of the user, wherein the said registration information includes a first factor authentication information like user id and password;

activating the NFC—

Near Field Communication mode in the Smart Wrist Watch and Selecting the required tag id in the array of tag ids on the smart wrist watch; and

associating the user account with smart wrist watch using NFC (Near-Field Communication) technology by tapping the Smart wrist watch to the computing device for further authentication and access to the selected tag id on the smart wrist watch.

8. A Method of claim 6 wherein the user is allowed for disabling multifactor authentication and login when the smart wrist watch is lost.

9. A Method of claim 6 wherein the user is allowed to shift the modes in the smart wrist watch which consists of NFC mode and Time mode by pressing mode button.

10. A method of claim 6 wherein during the NFC Mode in the Smart Wrist Watch the user is allowed to select one of the NFC Tag id within fifteen seconds from the activation of the mode;

if the mode is not selected within fifteen seconds the mode will be changed to Time mode thereby preventing unauthorized use of the NFC Mode thus activated.

11. The method set forth in claim 6 wherein the tag id is in the following group of, social networking sites, email accounts, bank accounts, remote computer, mobile phone, ipods and memory devices,

12. The method for disabling multifactor authentication and login as claimed in claim 6 that includes the steps of:

clicking on device lost icon displayed on the said website/computing device;

sending of verification code to user email account or mobile phone through sms or phone call;

entering said verification code along with username and password;

disabling NFC login or reset login for the said user account for said website;

Seeking new device or single authentication mode.

7. A Non-transitory computer-readable storage medium with an executable program stored thereon for directing operation of at least one computer to authenticate a user for accessing a resource, wherein the program instructs the at least one computer to perform the following steps:

a. associating the user with registration information particulars of the user, wherein the said registration information includes a first factor authentication information like user id and password;

b. activating the NFC—

Near Field Communication mode in the Smart Wrist Watch and Selecting the required tag id in the array of tag ids on the smart wrist watch; and

c. associating the user account with smart wrist watch using NFC (Near-Field Communication) technology by tapping the Smart wrist watch to the computing device for further authentication and access to the selected tag id on the smart wrist watch.
