Abstract

A method and device for processing a service in a mobile communication system based on SDN technology are provided. The method of controlling access caches in a communication network includes receiving information about contents requested by a user equipment (UE) connected to a first base station. The method also includes transmitting a forwarding request that requests to control at least one switch in order for an access cache that has the contents and that interworks with a second eNB to transfer the contents to the first eNB.

Claims

1. A method of controlling access caches in a communication network, the method comprising:

receiving information about contents requested by a user equipment (UE) accessed to a first base station; and

transmitting a forwarding request that requests to control at least one switch in order for an access cache that has the contents and that interworks with a second base station to transfer the contents to the first base station.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

identifying the access cache having the contents based on an Internet Protocol (W) address of the access cache that stores the contents.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the information about the contents comprises a Uniform Resource Location (URL) of the contents.

4. A method of operating a controller that controls switches in a communication network, the method comprising:

receiving a forwarding request that requests to forward contents requested by a user equipment (UE) accessed to a first base station;

determining a forwarding path in order for an access cache that has the contents and that interworks with a second base station to transfer the contents to the first base station; and

transmitting path information to at least one switch.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the path comprises the access cache, a second switch interworking with the second base station, a first switch interworking with the first base station, and the first base station.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

receiving bearer setup information of the UE from a switch connected to the first base station, after the UE is initially accessed.

7. A method of operating a switch in a communication network, the method comprising:

receiving path information about contents to transfer from a controller to a user equipment (UE) accessed to a first base station; and

transmitting contents stored at an access cache interworking with a second base station to another switch interworking with the first base station.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the path comprises the access cache, a second switch interworking with the second base station, a first switch interworking with the first base station, and the first base station.

9. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving a tunneling packet comprising a content request message from a UE accessed to the second base station;

decapsulating the tunneling packet; and

transmitting one of the content request message and a header of the content request message to a packet inspection node.

10. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

performing a bearer setup procedure, when the UE is accessed through the second base station; and

transmitting bearer setup information of the UE to the controller.

11. A device that controls access caches in a communication network, the device comprising:

a communication unit configured to receive information about contents requested by a user equipment (UE) accessed to a first base station and that is configured to transmit a forwarding request that requests to control at least one switch in order for an access cache that has the contents and that interworks with a second base station to transfer the contents to the first base station.

12. The device of claim 11, further comprising a control unit configured to identify an access cache having the contents based on an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the access cache that stores the contents.

13. The device of claim 12, wherein the information about the contents comprises a Uniform Resource Location (URL) of the contents.

14. A controller device that controls switches in a communication network, the controller device comprising:

a communication unit configured to receive a forwarding request that requests to forward contents requested by a user equipment (UE) accessed to a first base station; and

a control unit configured to determine a forwarding path in order for an access cache that has the contents and that interworks with a second base station to transfer the contents to the first base station,

wherein the communication unit is configured to transmit path information to at least one switch.

15. The controller device of claim 14, wherein the path comprises the access cache, a second switch interworking with the second base station, a first switch interworking with the first base station, and the first base station.

16. The controller device of claim 14, wherein the communication unit is configured to receive bearer setup information of the UE from a switch connected to the first base station, after the UE is initially accessed.

17. A switch device in a communication network, the switch device comprising:

a control unit configured to receive path information about contents to transfer from a controller to a user equipment (UE) accessed to a first base station and that is configured to control a transmission of contents stored at an access cache interworking with a second base station to another switch interworking with the first base station.

18. The switch device of claim 17, wherein the path comprises the access cache, a second switch interworking with the second base station, a first switch interworking with the first base station, and the first base station.

The switch device of claim 17, wherein the control unit is configured to decapsulate a tunneling packet and is configure to transmit one of a content request message and a header of the content request message to a packet inspection node, after the tunneling packet comprising the content request message from a UE accessed to the second base station is received.

20. The switch device of claim 17, wherein the control unit is configured to perform a bearer setup procedure and is configured to transmit bearer setup information of the UE to the controller, when the UE is accessed through the second base station.
