Abstract

A system for substance control flowmeter, level meters and other sensors to determine problem events and communicate problem events to a control unit. A valve may be turned off in the event of a leak and system status may be viewed. Embodiments employing battery power during loss of power such as a power blackout and as a main source of power. Problems can be wirelessly communicated with a control unit. Problems that exist may be displayed on the control panel or remote via the internet including alarm conditions sensors, low battery, poor signal, leak detected, communication failure, or flowmeter failure.

Claims

1. A system for controlling substance control comprising:

at least one wireless valve with an actuator that is operatively connected to a first transceiver, the actuator configured to control the wireless valve into an open position or a closed position in response to an instruction received via the first transceiver;

a processing element operatively connected to a second transceiver that is configured to communicate with the first transceiver;

an internet connection operatively connected to the processing device to receive the instruction; and

an application running on the processing device, the application operating to at least control the valve to the open position or the closed position in response to the instruction received via the internet connection.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the system further comprises at least one wireless device selected from one or more of:

a flow meter;

a motion sensor;

a moisture sensor;

a power source, a temperature sensor;

a level sensor;

a pH sensor, an oxidation-reduction potential sensor;

a resistivity sensor;

a conductivity sensor;

or a motion sensors.

3. The system of claim 1 further comprising an internet connectable device having a display, wherein the internet connectable device can communicate with the processing device through the internet connection to issue the instruction view and control the wireless valve.

4. The system of claim 3 wherein the internet connectable device is selected from:

a smart phone;

a laptop computer;

a desktop computer;

a tablet computer;

or a cellular device.

5. The system of claim 4 wherein operation of the valve is powered only by a set of batteries.

6. The system of claim 5 wherein the set of batteries provides back up power to operate the valve and main power for the wireless valve is provided by a wall mounted unit.

7. The system of claim 3 further comprising a first flowmeter having a first flowmeter output that is operatively connected to the internet connection such that the internet connectable device can view the output.

8. The system of claim 7 wherein the first flowmeter is on a main water supply to indicate water flow through the main water supply and further comprising a second flowmeter on a hot water supply that has a second flowmeter output to indicate hot water flow through the hot supply that is operatively connected to the internet connection.

9. The system of claim 8 wherein the internet connectable device has an application on it that views that first flowmeter out and the second flowmeter output to determine if there is a problem.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein the application determines the problem exists if the hot water supply does not have hot water flowing above a predetermined amount and the main water supply has water flowing over a predetermined period of time or for a predetermined volume of water.

11. The system of claim 10 wherein the application determines the problem exists if the hot water supply has a hot water flow and the main water supply has a consistent water flow over a predetermined period of time or for a predetermined volume of water.

12. A system for valve control comprising:

at least one wireless valve with an actuator configured to control the wireless valve into an open position or a closed position in response to an instruction received via a first transceiver;

an internet connection operatively connected to the first transceiver;

an internet connectable device having a display and processing means, the internet connectable device being remote from the wireless valve and operatively connected to the first transceiver through the internet connection; and

an application running on the internet connectable device, the application operating to send the instruction to the wireless valve to control the valve to the open position or the closed position.

13. The system of claim 12 wherein the internet connectable device is selected from:

a smart phone;

a laptop computer;

a desktop computer;

a tablet computer;

or a cellular device.

14. The system of claim 13 further comprising a first flowmeter having a first flowmeter output that is operatively connected to the internet connection such that the internet connectable device can view the output.

The system of claim 14 wherein the first flowmeter is on a main water supply to indicate water flow through the main water supply and further comprising a second flowmeter on a hot water supply that has a second flowmeter output to indicate hot water flow through the hot supply that is operatively connected to the internet connection.

16. The system of claim 15 wherein the internet connectable device has an application on it that views that first flowmeter output and the second flowmeter output to determine if there is a problem.

17. The system of claim 16 wherein the application determines the problem exists if the hot water supply does not have hot water flowing above a predetermined amount and the main water supply has water flowing over a predetermined period of time or for a predetermined volume of water.

18. The system of claim 15 wherein the application determines the problem exists if the hot water supply has a hot water flow and the main water supply has a consistent water flow over a predetermined period of time or for a predetermined volume of water.

19. The system of claim 12 wherein operation of the valve is powered only by a set of batteries.

20. The system of claim 19 wherein the set of batteries provides back up power to operate the valve and main power for the wireless valve is provided by a wall mounted unit.
