Abstract

A method, computer program product, and computing system for defining a domain name for purchase. A cell phone number is defined for a purchaser. A location of a device associated with the cell phone number is determined. The authenticity of the purchaser is confirmed based, at least in part, upon SMS messaging. An online presence is automatically generated at the domain name.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

defining a domain name for purchase;

defining a cell phone number for a purchaser;

determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number;

confirming the authenticity of the purchaser based, at least in part, upon SMS messaging; and

automatically generating an online presence at the domain name.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number includes:

querying the device associated with the cell phone number for location information.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 2 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number further includes:

receiving, from the device associated with the cell phone number, location information derived using GPS location methodologies.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 2 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number further includes:

receiving, from the device associated with the cell phone number, location information derived using triangulation methodologies.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein confirming the authenticity of the purchaser includes:

providing a confirmation text message to the cell phone number, wherein the confirmation text message includes confirmation information; and

receiving a confirmation response that includes the confirmation information.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

determining if the domain name is available for purchase.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

defining a first name and a last name for the purchaser of the domain name.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein automatically generating an online presence at the domain name includes:

generating a webpage at the domain name; and

defining at least one email address for the domain name.

9. A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

defining a domain name for purchase;

defining a cell phone number for a purchaser;

determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number;

confirming the authenticity of the purchaser based, at least in part, upon SMS messaging; and

automatically generating an online presence at the domain name.

10. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number includes:

querying the device associated with the cell phone number for location information.

11. The computer program product of claim 10 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number further includes:

receiving, from the device associated with the cell phone number, location information derived using GPS location methodologies.

12. The computer program product of claim 10 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number further includes:

receiving, from the device associated with the cell phone number, location information derived using triangulation methodologies.

13. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein confirming the authenticity of the purchaser includes:

providing a confirmation text message to the cell phone number, wherein the confirmation text message includes confirmation information; and

receiving a confirmation response that includes the confirmation information.

14. The computer program product of claim 9 further comprising instructions for:

determining if the domain name is available for purchase.

15. The computer program product of claim 9 further comprising instructions for:

defining a first name and a last name for the purchaser of the domain name.

16. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein automatically generating an online presence at the domain name includes:

generating a webpage at the domain name; and

defining at least one email address for the domain name.

17. A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:

defining a domain name for purchase;

defining a cell phone number for a purchaser;

determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number;

confirming the authenticity of the purchaser based, at least in part, upon SMS messaging; and

automatically generating an online presence at the domain name.

18. The computing system of claim 17 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number includes:

querying the device associated with the cell phone number for location information.

19. The computing system of claim 18 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number further includes:

receiving, from the device associated with the cell phone number, location information derived using GPS location methodologies.

20. The computing system of claim 18 wherein determining a location of a device associated with the cell phone number further includes:

receiving, from the device associated with the cell phone number, location information derived using triangulation methodologies.

21. The computing system of claim 17 wherein confirming the authenticity of the purchaser includes:

providing a confirmation text message to the cell phone number, wherein the confirmation text message includes confirmation information; and

receiving a confirmation response that includes the confirmation information.

22. The computing system of claim 17 further configured to perform operations comprising:

determining if the domain name is available for purchase.

23. The computing system of claim 17 further configured to perform operations comprising:

defining a first name and a last name for the purchaser of the domain name.

24. The computing system of claim 17 wherein automatically generating an online presence at the domain name includes:

generating a webpage at the domain name; and

defining at least one email address for the domain name.
