Abstract

For cameras that capture several images in a burst mode, some embodiments of the invention provide a method that presents one or more of the captured images differently than the remaining captured images. The method identifies at least one captured image as dominant image and at least another captured image as a non-dominant image. The method then displays each dominant image different from each non-dominant image in a concurrent presentation of the images captured during the burst mode. The dominant images may appear larger than non-dominant images, and/or appear with a marking that indicates that the images are dominant.

Claims

1. A method of presenting images captured during a single burst mode capture, the method comprising:

capturing a plurality of images in a single burst mode capture;

designating a set of the captured images as dominant images; and

presenting the set of dominant images different from each other non-dominant image in a presentation of the images captured during the single burst mode capture.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the presenting comprising making each dominant image appear larger than each other non-dominant image in the presentation.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the presenting comprises displaying each dominant image with a marking that indicates that the image is a dominant image.

4. The method of claim 3 further comprising:

in response to a user'"'"'s selection of the marking, designating the dominant image as a non-dominant image; and

presenting the designated dominant image without the marking in the presentation.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the presenting comprises displaying each non-dominant image with a marking that indicates that the image is a non-dominant image.

6. The method of claim 5 further comprising:

in response to a user'"'"'s selection of the marking, designating the non-dominant image as a dominant image; and

presenting the designated non-dominant image without the marking in the presentation.

7. The method of claim 1 further comprising providing an option to retain only the set of images designated as dominant images and to delete any remaining images from the single burst mode capture.

8. A mobile device comprising:

a camera configured to capture a plurality of images in a single burst mode capture;

at least one processing unit to designate a set of the captured images as dominant images; and

a touch screen to present the set of dominant images different from each other non-dominant image in a presentation of the images captured during the single burst mode capture.

9. The mobile device of claim 8, wherein the presenting comprising making each dominant image appear larger than each other non-dominant image in the presentation.

10. The mobile device of claim 8, wherein the presenting comprises displaying each dominant image with a marking that indicates that the image is a dominant image.

11. The mobile device of claim 10, wherein the processing unit is further to designate the dominant image as a non-dominant image in response to a user'"'"'s selection of the marking, and the touch screen is further to display the designated dominant image without the marking in the presentation.

12. The mobile device of claim 8, wherein the presenting comprises displaying each non-dominant image with a marking that indicates that the image is a non-dominant image.

13. A non-transitory machine readable medium storing a program that when executed by at least one processing unit presents images captured during a single burst mode capture, the program comprising sets of instructions for:

identifying at least one captured image as a suggested image and at least another captured image as a non-suggested image; and

displaying, on a touchscreen display, each suggested image different from each non-suggested image in a presentation of the images captured during the burst mode capture;

receiving a touch input on the touchscreen display over a non-suggested image;

designating the non-suggested image as a suggested image; and

changing the appearance of the suggested image to differentiate the suggested image from any remaining non-suggested image in the presentation.

14. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13, wherein each non-suggested image is displayed in the presentation with an affordance to designate that non-suggested image as a suggested image.

15. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 14, wherein the set of instructions for receiving a touch input comprises receiving a single finger tap gesture on the affordance to designate the image.

16. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13, wherein each suggested image is displayed in the presentation with an affordance to designate that suggested image as a non-suggested image.

17. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13, wherein the touch input is a multi-finger touch input on the touch screen over the non-suggested image to designate that non-suggested image as a suggested image.

18. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13, wherein the presentation displays thumbnail representations of the images captured during the single burst mode capture, wherein each thumbnail representation of a suggested image appears larger than each other thumbnail representation of a non-suggested image in the presentation.

19. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13, wherein each non-suggested image appears in the presentation with a marking that differentiates the suggested image from each other non-suggested image.

20. The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13, wherein the program further comprising sets of instructions for:

receiving a touch input on the touchscreen display over a suggested image;

designating the suggested image as a non-suggested image; and

changing the appearance of the non-suggested image to differentiate the non-suggested image from each remaining suggested image in the presentation.
