Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure identify and alert a clinician to physiological cues thereby aiding the clinician in providing a better fitting of a medical prosthesis. Physiological data of a recipient of a medical prosthesis is analyzed to identify triggers during fitting or other types of adjustments to the prosthesis. A determination is then made as to whether the identified triggers correspond to a feedback event. If the triggers correspond to a feedback event, an alert containing information about the feedback event is generated and displayed or otherwise made available to the clinician.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving input from at least one input device;

analyzing the input to identify at least one physiological trigger of a recipient;

determining a feedback event based on the at least one physiological trigger;

generating additional information about the feedback event;

determining whether to generate an alert; and

based upon the determination, displaying the feedback event and the additional information.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein displaying the feedback event and the additional information further comprises instructing a fitting module to display the feedback event in a secondary view.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the secondary view comprises at least one of:

an overlay display; and

a split screen display.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one input device comprises at least one video camera and the input comprises video input.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the feedback event comprises video playback of the recipient performing the physiological trigger.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the video playback of the physiological trigger comprises an indication highlighting the at least one physiological trigger.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the indication is a graphical element overlay on the video playback.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the indication is a zoomed-in view of the at least one physiological trigger.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the additional information comprises information instructing the clinician on how to adjust a medical device fitting based upon the feedback event.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein determining whether to generate an alert further comprises:

comparing the feedback event to a user profile; and

generating the alert when the user profile indicates that the feedback event requires an alert.

11. A system comprising:

at least one input device, wherein the at least one input device performs operations comprising;

recording physiological data from a recipient; and

sending the physiological data to a physiological analysis module; and

a computing device comprising;

at least one processor; and

computer storage media encoding a plurality of modules, the plurality of modules comprising;

the physiological analysis module, wherein the physiological analysis module comprises computer executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform a method for identifying a feedback event comprising;

receiving physiological data from the at least one input device;

analyzing the physiological data to identify at least one trigger;

determining the feedback event based on the at least one trigger;

determining additional information related to the feedback event; and

providing at least one of the feedback event and additional information related to the feedback event.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the plurality of modules further comprises:

an alert module, wherein the alert module comprises computer executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform a method for generating an alert comprising;

comparing the feedback event to a user profile; and

generating the alert when the user profile indicates that the feedback event requires an alert.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein providing the feedback event and additional information is contingent upon generating the alert.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the plurality of modules further comprises:

a tracking module, wherein the tracking module comprises computer executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform a method for tracking feedback comprising;

associating the feedback event and the additional information related to the feedback event with the recipient; and

storing the feedback event and the additional information related to the feedback event.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the method for tracking feedback further comprises:

receiving clinician information;

associating the clinician information with the feedback event; and

storing the clinician information.

16. The system of claim 14, further comprising a fitting assistance module, wherein the fitting assistance module comprises at least one of the physiological analysis module, the alert module, and the tracking module.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the plurality of modules further comprises a fitting module and wherein providing at least one of the feedback event and additional information related to the feedback event comprises providing at least one of the feedback event and additional information to the fitting module.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the fitting module comprises computer executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform a method comprising:

receiving at least one of the feedback event and the additional information; and

displaying at least one of the feedback event and the additional information.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein displaying at least one of the feedback event and the additional information comprises displaying a secondary view comprising at least one of the feedback event and the additional information.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the secondary view is displayed as an overlay over a user interface for the fitting module.

21. The system of claim 19, wherein the secondary view is a split screen view.

22. The system of claim 11, wherein the at least one input device comprises at least one camera.

23. The system of claim 21, wherein providing the feedback event comprises providing video playback of the physiological trigger.

24. A method comprising:

receiving visual input from at least one camera;

analyzing the visual input to identify at least one physiological trigger of the recipient;

determining a feedback event based on the at least one physiological trigger;

generating additional information about the feedback event; and

displaying the feedback event and the additional information.

27. The method of claim 24, wherein the method further comprises:

associating the feedback event and the additional information with the recipient; and

storing the feedback event and the additional information.

25. The method 24, wherein displaying the feedback event and the additional information further comprises instructing a fitting module to display the feedback event.

26. The method of claim 25, wherein the secondary view comprises at least one of:

an overlay display; and

a split screen display.

28. A computer storage medium comprising computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:

receiving visual input from at least one camera;

analyzing the visual input to identify at least one physiological trigger of the recipient;

determining a feedback event based on the at least one physiological trigger;

generating additional information about the feedback event; and

displaying the feedback event and the additional information.

29. The computer storage medium of claim 28, wherein the method further comprises:

associating the feedback event and the additional information with the recipient; and

storing the feedback event and the additional information.

30. The computer storage medium of claim 29, wherein the stored feedback event and the additional information are provided to a machine learning algorithm to update the method of providing fitting assistance.
