Abstract

When a user taps and holds a selection on a touchscreen display, such as a “buy” button, an action occurs. Subsequently, when the user releases the button (or performs some other action), another action initiates or occurs. The other action may depend on when the user releases the button, where the user moves a finger to on the display, information about the user, and/or the display or information on the device when the button is released. After the button is released, other selections or actions may be presented on the touchscreen sequentially such that the user can release the hold to choose the selection or on one screen such that the user can move to the desired selection for review and/or editing.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

one or more memories storing user account information, where the user account information comprises payment method information and shipping address information; and

one or more hardware processors in communication with the one or more memories and operable to read instructions from the one or more memories to perform the steps of;

receiving an indication that a user has tapped and held an active portion of a display on a user device;

receiving an indication that the user has released or moved from the active portion of the display;

determining whether the user released or moved from the active portion before a predetermined time; and

providing content to the user based, in part, on whether the user released or moved from the active portion before the predetermined time.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the providing comprises approving a payment request after the user has released the active portion at or after the predetermined time.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the providing comprises, after the user has released the active portion at or after the predetermined time:

requesting the user confirm a payment; and

receiving a response from the user through the user device.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the response comprises a gesture on the display of the user device, a selection on the display of the user device or a movement of the user device.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more hardware processors further performs the step of providing content to the user when the active portion is being held by the user.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the content comprises a timer counting down from the predetermined time.

7. The system of claim 5, wherein the content comprises a plurality of sequential information.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein the sequential information comprises a payment method and a shipping address.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the providing comprises, after the user has released the active portion before the predetermined time, providing a static screen of content displayed to the user when the user released the active portion.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein the providing comprises, after the user has moved to a different active portion before the predetermined time, providing a static screen of content displayed with the different active portion.

13. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the providing comprises, after the user has released the active portion at or after the predetermined time:

requesting the user confirm a payment; and

receiving a response from the user through the user device.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the method further comprises providing content to the user when the active portion is being held by the user.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 14, wherein the content comprises a timer counting down from the predetermined time.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 14, wherein the content comprises a plurality of sequential information.

11. A non-transitory computer readable medium having computer readable and executable code for instructing one or more processors to perform a method comprising:

receiving an indication that a user has tapped and held an active portion of a display on a user device;

receiving an indication that the user has released or moved from the active portion of the display;

determining whether the user released or moved from the active portion before a predetermined time; and

providing content to the user based, in part, on whether the user released or moved from the active portion before the predetermined time.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the providing comprises approving a payment request after the user has released the active portion at or after the predetermined time.

17. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the providing comprises, after the user has released the active portion before the predetermined time, providing a static screen of content displayed to the user when the user released the active portion.

18. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the providing comprises, after the user has moved to a different active portion before the predetermined time, providing a static screen of content displayed with the different active portion.

19. A method comprising:

receiving, electronically by a hardware processor of a payment provider, an indication that a user has tapped and held an active portion of a display on a user device;

receiving an indication that the user has released or moved from the active portion of the display;

determining, by the hardware processor, whether the user released or moved from the active portion before a predetermined time; and

providing content, electronically, to the user based, in part, on whether the user released or moved from the active portion before the predetermined time.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the providing comprises approving a payment request after the user has released the active portion at or after the predetermined time.
