Abstract

An apparatus may be provided. The apparatus may comprise a circuit board. In addition, the apparatus may comprise an integrated connector mounted to the circuit board. A choke, external to the integrated connector, may be included in the apparatus. The choke may be electrically connected to the integrated connector through the circuit board.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a circuit board;

an integrated connector mounted to the circuit board; and

a choke external to the integrated connector, the choke being electrically connect to the integrated connector through the circuit board.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one transformer.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one transformer tuned to block ground currents.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one transformer, the choke and the at least one transformer being electrically connected.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one receptacle.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one receptacle and at least four transformers corresponding to the at least one receptacle.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the choke comprises at least two choke coils corresponding to the at least four transformers.

8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the choke comprises at least four choke coils corresponding to the at least four transformers.

9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one Power-over-Ethernet (POE) transformer.

10. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the choke is disposed in a choke structure.

11. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the choke is disposed in a choke structure mounted to the circuit board.

12. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the choke is tuned to filter noise caused by other components of the apparatus.

13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the other components of the apparatus comprise at least one of the following:

a direct current (DC) to (DC) converter and a power supply.

14. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the device comprises a networking device.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the networking device comprises one of the following:

a network switch and a router.

16. An apparatus comprising:

an integrated connector comprising at least one transformer tuned to block ground currents; and

a choke external to the integrated connector, the choke tuned to filter noise caused by other components of the apparatus.

17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the integrated connector and the choke are mounted to a circuit board.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the choke being mounted to the circuit board comprises the choke being disposed in a choke structure mounted to the circuit board.

19. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the at least one transformer and the choke are electrically connected through a circuit board.

20. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the other components of the apparatus comprise at least one of the following:

a direct current (DC) to (DC) converter and a power supply.

21. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the device comprises a networking device.

22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the networking device comprises one of the following:

a network switch and a router.

23. An apparatus comprising:

a circuit board;

an integrated connector mounted to the circuit board, the integrated connector comprising at least one transformer tuned to block ground currents in the apparatus;

a choke structure external to the integrated connector and mounted to the circuit board; and

a choke disposed within the choke structure, the choke being electrically connect to the at least one transformer through the circuit board, the choke being tuned to filter noise caused by other components of the apparatus.

24. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the choke comprises at least two choke coils.

25. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the integrated connector comprises at least one Power-over-Ethernet (POE) transformer.

26. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the other components of the apparatus comprise at least one of the following:

a direct current (DC) to (DC) converter and a power supply.

27. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the choke is configured for high electrical performance with toroidal ferrites.

28. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the device comprises a networking device.

29. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the networking device comprises one of the following:

a network switch and a router.
