1. A method, comprising:
- measuring tissue carbon dioxide levels of a living organism;
measuring end-tidal carbon dioxide levels of the living organism; and
calculating at least one tissue-to-end-tidal carbon dioxide gradient value based on the measured tissue carbon dioxide levels and the measured end-tidal carbon dioxide levels, the tissue-to-end-tidal carbon dioxide gradient value being indicative of a measure of perfusion of the living organism.

8. A system, comprising:
-
at least a first sensor configured to non-invasively measure tissue carbon dioxide levels in a human being; at least a second sensor configured to non-invasively measure end-tidal carbon dioxide levels in the human being; and a calculating apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the calculating apparatus to calculate at least one tissue-to-end-tidal carbon dioxide gradient value based on the measured tissue carbon dioxide levels and the measured end-tidal carbon dioxide levels, the tissue-to-end-tidal carbon dioxide gradient value being indicative of a level of perfusion of the living organism.
