Abstract

Vascular treatment and methods include a plurality of self-expanding bulbs and a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Joints between woven structures and hypotubes include solder. Woven structures include patterns of radiopaque filaments measureable under x-ray. Structures are heat treated to include at least shapes at different temperatures. A catheter includes a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Heat treating systems include a detachable flange. Laser cutting systems include a fluid flow system.

Claims

1. A system for cutting a hypotube, the system comprising:

a laser configured to produce a focused laser beam;

a bushing configured to at least partially support a hypotube;

a collet configured to at least partially support the hypotube, the collet comprising an adjustable diameter aperture;

a fluid flow system comprising;

a water inlet device, and

a water inlet gate configured to be fluidly coupled to an end of the hypotube during cutting of the hypotube by the focused laser beam; and

a conveyor system configured to longitudinally advance the hypotube during cutting of the hypotube by the focused laser beam.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the focused laser beam has a widest dimension less than a narrowest dimension of a pattern to be cut.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the bushing comprises an aperture having a diameter at least about 0.001 inches greater than an outer diameter of the hypotube.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the collet comprises an aperture having a diameter at least about 0.001 inches greater than an outer diameter of the hypotube.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the water inlet device has an adjustable height.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the water inlet gate has an adjustable height.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the laser comprises a YAG laser.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the laser has a wavelength of about 1060 nm or less.

21. The system of claim 1, wherein the bushing is configured to inhibit motion of the hypotube prior to cutting of the hypotube by the focused laser beam, wherein the collet is configured to at least one of reduce sag of the hypotube and maintain tension on the hypotube as the hypotube is longitudinally advanced towards the focused laser beam, and wherein the conveyor system comprises a hypotube dispenser comprising a hypotube clamp and a motor.

10. A system for cutting a hypotube, the system comprising:

at least one of a bushing and a collet configured to at least partially support the hypotube;

a fluid flow system comprising;

a water inlet device, and

a water inlet gate configured to be fluidly coupled to an end of the hypotube during cutting of the hypotube; and

a conveyor system configured to longitudinally advance the hypotube.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the at least one of a bushing and a collet configured to at least partially support the hypotube comprises a collet comprising an adjustable diameter aperture.

12. The system of claim 10, wherein the at least one of a bushing and a collet configured to at least partially support the hypotube comprises a collet comprising an aperture having a diameter at least about 0.001 inches greater than an outer diameter of the hypotube.

13. The system of claim 10, wherein the at least one of a bushing and a collet configured to at least partially support the hypotube comprises a bushing comprising an aperture having a diameter at least about 0.001 inches greater than an outer diameter of the hypotube.

14. The system of claim 10, wherein the water inlet device has an adjustable height.

15. The system of claim 10, wherein the water inlet gate has an adjustable height.

16. The system of claim 10, wherein the at least one of a bushing and a collet configured to at least partially support the hypotube comprises a plurality of bushings and collets longitudinally spaced so that sag of the hypotube is less than about 3% of a height of the hypotube.

17. A system for cutting a hypotube, the system comprising:

a fluid flow system comprising;

a water inlet device having an adjustable height, and

a water inlet gate having an adjustable height and configured to be fluidly coupled to an end of a hypotube during cutting of the hypotube.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the water inlet device comprises a plurality of reservoirs.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein the plurality of reservoirs are vertically stacked and fluidly coupled.

20. The system of claim 17, wherein the water inlet gate is configured to adjust fluid flow based on a height of the water inlet device.
