Abstract

Discussed is a display device and a method of manufacturing the display device. The display device according to one example includes a display panel including a first substrate and a second substrate facing and coupled to the first substrate, wherein the first substrate includes a display part in which a plurality of pixels are formed, a bending part formed at one side of the display part, and a pad part formed at an end of the bending part; a back film adhered to a portion, corresponding to the display part and the pad part, in a bottom of the first substrate; and a supporting member formed to guide the bending part and support the back film adhered to a portion corresponding to the display part.

Claims

1. A display device comprising:

a display panel comprising a first substrate and a second substrate facing-coupled to the first substrate, wherein the first substrate comprises a display part in which a plurality of pixels are formed, a bending part formed at one side of the display part, and a pad part formed at an end of the bending part;

a back film adhered to a portion, corresponding to the display part and the pad part, in a bottom of the first substrate; and

a supporting member formed to guide the bending part and support the back film adhered to a portion corresponding to the display part.

2. The display device of claim 1, wherein the back film adhered to a portion corresponding to the pad part is adhered to a bottom of the supporting member.

3. The display device of claim 1, wherein in the back film, a separation space is formed between a portion corresponding to the display part and a portion corresponding to the pad part.

4. The display device of claim 3, wherein the separation space corresponds to the bending part.

5. The display device of claim 1, wherein the back film comprises:

a first film adhered to a portion corresponding to the pad part; and

a second film adhered to a portion corresponding to the pad part, the first film and the second film being separated from each other in an area corresponding to the bending part.

6. The display device of claim 1, wherein a side of the supporting member facing the bending part is formed to be rounded.

7. A method of manufacturing a display device, the method comprising:

manufacturing a display panel by facing-coupling a first substrate to a second substrate, wherein the first substrate comprises a display part in which a plurality of pixels are formed, a bending part formed in one side of the display part, and a pad part formed in an end of the bending part;

manufacturing a back film comprising a separation space which is formed between a portion corresponding to the display part and a portion corresponding to the pad part;

adhering the back film to a bottom of the first substrate;

adhering a bottom of a portion of the back film to a top of the supporting member, the portion of the back film corresponding to the display part;

bending the bending part of the first substrate along a side of the supporting member; and

adhering a portion of the back film, corresponding to the pad part, to a bottom of the supporting member.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the manufacturing of the back film comprises:

applying a top adhesive material to a top of a base back film;

adhering a top release paper to a surface of the top adhesive material;

adhering a bottom adhesive material to the base back film;

adhering a bottom release paper to a surface of the bottom adhesive paper; and

cutting a portion corresponding to the bending part except the bottom release paper to manufacture the back film.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the adhering of the back film to the bottom of the first substrate comprises separating the top release paper, and adhering the top of the back film to the bottom of the first substrate by using the top adhesive material.

The method of claim 9, wherein the adhering of the bottom of the back film to the top of the supporting member comprises separating the bottom release paper, and adhering the bottom of the portion of the back film to the top of the supporting member, the portion of the back film corresponding to the display part.
