Abstract

The disclosure relates to pillows that allow the user to rest comfortably in a variety of different positions.

Claims

1. A pillow, comprising:

a first surface and an opposing second surface separated by the pillow depth;

a contour provided on at least one of the first and second surfaces, wherein the contour comprises a valley between two peaks;

a recess, positioned in the valley, that extends into the pillow depth; and

at least one ventilation channel that extends from the recess to a surface of the pillow.

2. A pillow according to claim 1, wherein the contour is provided on only one of the first and second surfaces.

3. A pillow according to claim 1, wherein the contour is provided on both the first and second surfaces.

4. A pillow according to claim 1, wherein the recess extends through the entire depth of the pillow.

5. A pillow according to claim 1, wherein the recess extends through only a portion of the depth of the pillow.

6. A pillow according to claim 1, which comprises only one ventilation channel.

7. A pillow according to claim 1, which comprises two or more ventilation channels.

8. A pillow according to claim 1, which comprises a side surface, and wherein the ventilation channel extends from the recess to the side surface.

9. A pillow according to claim 1, wherein the pillow comprises foam.

10. A pillow according to claim 1, which is of single piece construction.

11. A pillow according to claim 1, which is constructed of two or more pieces.

12. A pillow, comprising:

a first surface and an opposing second surface separated by the pillow depth;

a contour provided on at least one of the first and second surfaces, wherein the contour comprises a valley between two peaks;

a recess, positioned in the valley, that extends through the pillow depth; and

at least one trench disposed within at least one contoured surface, wherein the trench extends from the recess to the periphery of the pillow.

13. A pillow according to claim 12, wherein the at least one trench extends from the recess through at least one peak to the periphery of the pillow.

14. A pillow according to claim 13, wherein the peak extends from one side of the pillow to another, and the trench extends in a direction perpendicular to the peak.

15. A pillow according to any one of claim 12, wherein the pillow comprises two or more trenches.

16. A pillow according to claim 15, which comprises:

a first trench disposed within the first surface, and

a second trench disposed within the second surface,

wherein the first and second trenches extend from the recess to the periphery of the pillow.

17. A pillow according to claim 16, wherein the first and second trenches are parallel.

18. A pillow according to claim 17, wherein the first and second trenches extend from opposing sides of the recess to opposing peripheral surfaces of the pillow.

19. A pillow according to claim 12, wherein the contour is provided on only one of the first and second surfaces.

20. A pillow according to claim 12, wherein the contour is provided on both the first and second surfaces.
