1. An input device comprising:

  • a display device configured to sense input objects;

    a plurality of sensor electrodes disposed in a first layer of a stack, wherein each of the plurality of sensor electrodes comprises at least on common electrode of the display device and are configured for display updating and capacitive sensing;

    a first plurality of sub-pixels corresponding to a display line of the display device;

    a plurality of gate lines, wherein a first gate line of the plurality of gate lines is coupled to a first subset of the first plurality of sub-pixels and a second gate line of the plurality of gate lines is coupled to a second subset of the first plurality of sub-pixels;

    a plurality of conductive routing traces disposed in a second layer of the stack and coupled the plurality of sensor electrodes in the first layer;

    a plurality of source lines disposed in the second layer of the stack, the source lines are coupled to the plurality of sub-pixels; and

    a processing system coupled to the plurality of conductive routing traces, the processing system is configured to perform capacitive sensing using the plurality of sensor electrodes.
