Abstract

An input device includes a detection unit for detecting a first predetermined operation, and a control unit for recognizing a second predetermined operation as the first predetermined operation even when a second predetermined operation different from the first predetermined operation is detected within a predetermined time after detection of the first predetermined operation. For example, the device is disposed on a spoke unit that is operable by a driver'"'"'s thumb when the driver grips a steering wheel. For example, the first predetermined operation and the second predetermined operations are swipes.

Claims

1. An input device comprising:

a detection unit for detecting a first predetermined operation; and

a control unit for recognizing a second predetermined operation as the first predetermined operation even when a second predetermined operation different from the first predetermined operation is detected within a predetermined time after detection of the first predetermined operation.

The input device of claim 1, further comprising a display unit, wherein the control unit controls the display unit so that when the second predetermined operation is detected, the display unit displays in a display mode different from a display mode displayed when the first predetermined operation is detected.

3. The input device of claim 1, wherein the control unit adjusts the predetermined time on the basis of a difference between a first time and a second time when the first predetermined operation is detected.

4. The input device of claim 1, wherein the detection unit is a touch sensor, and the first predetermined operation and the second predetermined operation are detected by the touch sensor.

5. The input device of claim 1, wherein:

the first predetermined operation and the second predetermined operation are swipes, a touch surface of the detection unit being divided into four regions, upper, lower, left, and right; and

the control unit recognizes any of a swipe in a first direction going from the lower region to the upper region, a swipe in a second direction going from the upper region to the lower region, a swipe in a third direction going from the left region to the right region, and a swipe in a fourth direction going from the right region to the left region.

The input device of claim 5, wherein the control unit recognizes a swipe corresponding to the second predetermined operation as valid when a direction of the swipe corresponding to the first predetermined operation and a direction of the swipe corresponding to the second predetermined operation detected by the detection unit are reverse.

7. The input device of claim 5, wherein the detection unit is disposed on a spoke unit that is operable by a driver'"'"'s thumb when a driver grips a steering wheel.
