A method and a system for distributing coupons for buying articles enabling a first user to provide a second user with an entitlement to a coupon, enabling the second user to obtain the coupon providing a price reduction for buying an article, and, upon the purchase of the article using the coupon, providing a commission to the first user.

23. A method for promoting sale, the method comprising the steps of:
-
providing a database of user records and a database of entitlement records; a) enabling a user to perform the steps of; i) registering in said database of users; ii) receiving an entitlement for a coupon; and iii) sending said entitlement for a coupon to another user; wherein said entitlement has a record in said database of entitlement records, said entitlement record associating at least one of said entitlement and said coupon with a registration record of said user sending said entitlement; and wherein a plurality of users perform steps i, ii and iii to create a database of a plurality of user records and a database of a plurality of entitlement records, wherein said entitlement records record a plurality of chains of entitlements associated with their sending user; b) upon a purchase of said article using a coupon, using said database of entitlements and said database of users, perform the steps of; identifying a chain of entitlements leading to said coupon used to purchase said article; identifying a plurality of sending users associated with said chain of entitlements; and distributing a commission associated with said coupon between said plurality of users. - View Dependent Claims (24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)

31. A system for promoting sales of an article the system comprising:

a) a first computer comprising a database of users and a database of entitlements; b) a user communication module communicatively coupled to a second computer, said user communication module enabling a first user to; i) receive an entitlement to a first coupon, wherein said coupon bears a commission for sale of said article; ii) using said entitlement, register as a coupon sender in said database of users; and iii) using said entitlement, send to a second user, an entitlement to a second coupon, said entitlement being registered in said database of entitlements, wherein said entitlement associates between said first user as a sending user of said second coupon and said second user as a receiver of said second coupon; c) a commission distribution module operative to perform, using said database of entitlements said database of users, upon a purchase of said article using any of said coupons, the steps of; identifying a chain of entitlement leading to said coupon used to purchase said article; identifying a plurality of sending users associated with said chain of entitlements; and distributing said commission between said plurality of users. - View Dependent Claims (32, 33, 34)
