Abstract

A method for supporting measurement of a User Equipment (UE) by a first base station in a wireless communication system. The method according to an embodiment includes acquiring, by the first base station, information of a downlink subframe configuration of a second base station; and transmitting, by the first base station, information of measurement objects to the UE. The measurement objects are determined based on the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station. A measurement is performed by the UE in resources indicated based on the information of the measurement objects. The resources are determined as a combination of at least one Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and at least one downlink subframe. The downlink subframe configuration of the second base station includes information indicating at least one subframe configured as an Almost Blank Subframe (ABS).

Claims

1. A method for supporting measurement of a User Equipment (UE) by a first base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

acquiring, by the first base station, information of a downlink subframe configuration of a second base station; and

transmitting, by the first base station, information of measurement objects to the UE,

wherein the measurement objects are determined based on the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station,

wherein a measurement is performed by the UE in resources indicated based on the information of the measurement objects,

wherein the resources are determined as a combination of at least one Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and at least one downlink subframe, and

wherein the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station includes information indicating at least one subframe configured as an Almost Blank Subframe (ABS).

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the measurement objects include resources of the first base station having reduced interference from the second base station.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the measurement objects include resources of the first base station constantly interfered with by the second base station.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the information of the measurement objects further restricts the resources for the UE by one or a combination of a control region, a data region, a slot, a resource block, and an antenna port of the first base station.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the information of the measurement objects is transmitted through Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station includes an offset of a boundary of a downlink subframe of the first base station and a boundary of a downlink subframe of the second base station.

7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the measurement is performed for at least one of a Radio Link Monitoring (RLM) measurement, a Channel State Information (CSI) measurement, an interference measurement, and a Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurement.

8. The method according to claim 7, wherein the RRM measurement includes Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ), and the RSRQ is measured by Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) and a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), and

wherein the information of the measurement objects for one or more of the RSRQ, the RSRP, and the RSSI restrict the resources for the UE to perform the measurement by all OFDM symbols in the at least one downlink subframe indicated by the first base station.

9. A method for performing measurement by a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving, by the UE, information of measurement objects from a first base station; and

performing, by the UE, a measurement for the measurement objects,

wherein the measurement objects are determined based on a downlink subframe configuration of a second base station, and information of the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station is acquired by the first base station from the second base station,

wherein a measurement is performed by the UE in resources indicated based on the information of the measurement objects,

wherein the resources are determined as a combination of at least one Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and at least one downlink subframe, and

wherein the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station includes information indicating at least one subframe configured as an Almost Blank Subframe (ABS).

10. A base station for supporting measurement of a User Equipment (UE), the base station comprising:

a reception module;

a transmission module; and

a processor configured to;

acquire information of a downlink subframe configuration of a second base station, and

transmit, using the transmission module, information of measurement objects to the UE,

wherein the measurement objects are determined based on the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station,

wherein a measurement is performed by the UE in resources indicated based on the information of the measurement objects,

wherein the resources are determined as a combination of at least one Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and at least one downlink subframe, and

wherein the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station includes information indicating at least one subframe configured as an Almost Blank Subframe (ABS).

11. A User Equipment (UE) for performing measurement, the UE comprising:

a reception module;

a transmission module; and

a processor configured to;

receive, using the reception module, information of measurement objects from a first base station, and

perform a measurement for the measurement objects,

wherein the measurement objects are determined based on a downlink subframe configuration of a second base station, and information of the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station is acquired by the first base station from the second base station,

wherein a measurement is performed by the UE in resources indicated based on the information of the measurement objects,

wherein the resources are determined as a combination of at least one Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and at least one downlink subframe, and

wherein the downlink subframe configuration of the second base station includes information indicating at least one subframe configured as an Almost Blank Subframe (ABS).
