Abstract

A method for user recognition, comprising receiving user information from an information unit of a user; detecting the user face in a captured user image; and recognizing the user identity in the captured image according to a predetermined gesture associated with the user information and performed by the user.

11. A method for user recognition, comprising

receiving user information from an information unit of a user;

and

recognizing a user identity in a captured user image according to a gesture associated with the user information and performed by the user.

12. The method according to claim 11, wherein the step of recognizing

comprises anticipating a location of the gesture in the captured user image;

and

capturing the user image and recognizing the user identity at the location of the gesture.

13. The method according to claim 11, further comprises a step of detecting the user face in the captured user image before the step of recognizing.

14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the step to anticipating comprises if user faces of a plurality of users are detected in the captured user image, anticipating the gesture location of the plurality of users.

15. The method according to claim 11, further comprises providing personalized service according to the user identity.

16. The method according to claim 11, wherein the gesture is stored in the information unit of the user.

17. The method according to claim 11, wherein the gesture position is defined as relating to the user face.

18. The method according to claim 11, wherein the information unit is a RFID tag or a smart card, and the user information includes user ID.

19. The method according to claim 11, wherein the user image is captured by a camera, a digital camera or a webcam.

20. A user recognition system, comprising

a user information unit for recording information of a user identity of a user;

an image capturing unit for capturing an user image of the user

an information receiving unit for receiving user information of the user from the information unit;

a processor for recognizing the user identity in the captured user image according to a gesture associated with the user information and performed by the user.

21. The user recognition system according to claim 20, further comprising

a service providing device for providing service to a user according to the recognized user identity.
