Abstract

Methods, systems, and products determine a cost to correct mortgage applications. When electronic data is submitted in an electronic mortgage application form, the electronic data is checked for errors. If an error is determined, a cost to resolve the error is also determined.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, at a server, an electronic mortgage application form sent from a client device, the electronic mortgage application form having electronic data entered into a data field;

retrieving, by the server, evaluation information associated with a name of the data field;

determining, by the server, an error in the electronic data based on the evaluation information associated with the name of the data field;

retrieving, by the server, a cost associated with the name of the data field; and

sending, from the server to the client device, a prompt for payment of the cost to correct the error in the electronic data entered into the data field of the electronic mortgage application form.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising prompting for a credit card number for the payment of the cost to correct the error.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving an electronic payment of the cost to correct the error.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving a credit card number as the payment of the cost to correct the error.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising querying a database for the name of the data field, the database storing different evaluation information associated with different names of data fields in the electronic mortgage application form.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving corrected electronic data for the electronic mortgage application form.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising retrieving an evaluation rule associated with the name of the data field in the electronic mortgage application form.

8. A system, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising;

receiving an electronic mortgage application form sent from a client device;

determining an empty data field in the electronic mortgage application form;

retrieving a cost associated with a name of the empty data field; and

prompting the client device for payment of the cost to correct the empty data field in the electronic mortgage application form.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise prompting for a credit card number as the payment of the cost to correct the empty data field.

10. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise processing an electronic payment of the cost to correct the empty data field.

11. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise processing a credit card number as the payment of the cost to correct the empty data field.

12. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise querying a database for the name of the data field, the database storing different costs associated with different names of data fields in the electronic mortgage application form.

13. The system of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise determining multiple empty data fields in the electronic mortgage application form.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the operations further comprise:

retrieving costs associated with the name of each one of the empty data fields in the electronic mortgage application form; and

determining a total cost to correct the multiple empty data fields in the electronic mortgage application form.

15. A memory storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving an electronic mortgage application form sent from a client device;

retrieving evaluation rules associated with different names of data fields in the electronic mortgage application form;

comparing electronic data entered in the data fields to the evaluation rules;

determining an error in the electronic data entered into one of the data fields;

retrieving a cost associated with a name of the one of the data fields;

reporting the cost to the client device to correct the error; and

requesting payment of the cost to correct the error in the electronic mortgage application form.

16. The memory of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise prompting for a credit card number as the payment of the cost to correct the error in the electronic mortgage application form.

17. The memory of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise processing an electronic payment of the cost to correct the error in the electronic mortgage application form.

18. The memory of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise processing a credit card number as the payment of the cost to correct the error in the electronic mortgage application form.

19. The memory of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise querying a database for the name of the one of the data fields, the database storing different costs associated with the different names of the data fields in the electronic mortgage application form.

20. The memory of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise:

determining multiple errors in the data fields in the electronic mortgage application form; and

determining a total cost to correct the multiple errors in the data fields.
