Abstract

A cross system analytics system includes sets of in memory database tables stored on random access memory of the system. Each set of tables corresponds to data from a different source system to provide separation of data from each source system. A separate in memory database schema for each set of tables corresponds to each source system. A replication system is coupled to provide replication of data from the source systems into the sets of in memory database tables. An analytics engine executes cross system views of data in the sets of tables to provide a cross system central and consistent view for reporting and analyzing data for an organization having multiple systems with different database schemas.

Claims

11. A method comprising:

storing sets of in memory database tables in random access memory of an in memory database system, each set of tables corresponding to data from a different source system to provide separation of data from each source system;

maintaining a separate in memory database schema for each set of tables corresponding to each source system;

replicating data from the source systems into the sets of in memory database tables; and

executing cross system views of data in the sets of tables to provide a cross system central and consistent view for reporting and analyzing data for an organization having multiple systems with different database schemas.

1. A cross system analytics system comprising:

sets of in memory database tables stored on random access memory of the system, each set of tables corresponding to data from a different source system to provide separation of data from each source system;

a separate in memory database schema for each set of tables corresponding to each source system;

a replication system coupled to provide replication of data from the source systems into the sets of in memory database tables; and

an analytics engine to execute cross system views of data in the sets of tables to provide a cross system central and consistent view for reporting and analyzing data for an organization having multiple systems with different database schemas.

2. The cross system analytics system of claim 1 wherein the replication system comprises a basic replication server for replication of data based on database triggers and delta logging.

3. The cross system analytics system of claim 2 wherein the basic replication server operates on data compatible with the cross system analytics system database schema.

4. The cross system analytics system of claim 1 wherein the replication system comprises an advanced data management replication server to harmonize data prior to replication into the sets of in memory database tables.

5. The cross system analytics system of claim 4 wherein the advanced data management replication server includes a duplicate check to enable identification and prevention of duplicate records.

6. The cross system analytics system of claim 4 wherein the advanced data management replication server includes structural mapping, value mapping, and key mapping.

7. The cross system analytics system of claim 4 wherein the advanced data management replication server includes a distribution model and routing infrastructure to distribute data based on the distribution model.

8. The cross system analytics system of claim 1 wherein the cross system views expose a logical system for each source system, the logical system including attributes defining authorizations.

9. The cross system analytics system of claim 8 wherein the analytics engine includes join and union functions to join views and logical system representations from multiple source systems to create the cross view with authorizations.

10. The cross system analytics system of claim 1 and further comprising a cross view template defined for a minimum number of source systems defined as a most likely number of systems.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein replicating data comprises using a base replication server to replicate data based on database triggers and delta logging.

13. The method of claim 11 wherein replicating data comprises using an advanced data management replication server to harmonize data prior to replication into the sets of in memory database tables.

14. The method of claim 13 wherein the advanced data management replication server performs a duplicate check to enable identification and prevention of duplicate records.

15. The method of claim 13 wherein the advanced data management replication server includes structural mapping, value mapping, and key mapping, and further includes a distribution model and routing infrastructure to distribute data based on the distribution model.

16. The method of claim 11 wherein the cross system views expose a logical system for each source system, the logical system including attributes defining authorizations.

17. The method of claim 16 wherein the cross system views are formed by union functions to join views and logical system representations from multiple source systems to create the cross system view with authorizations.

18. A computer readable storage device having instructions for causing a computer to execute a method, the method comprising:

storing sets of in memory database tables in random access memory of an in memory database system, each set of tables corresponding to data from a different source system to provide separation of data from each source system;

maintaining a separate in memory database schema for each set of tables corresponding to each source system;

replicating data from the source systems into the sets of in memory database tables; and

executing cross system views of data in the sets of tables to provide a cross system central and consistent view for reporting and analyzing data for an organization having multiple systems with different database schemas.

The computer readable storage device of claim 18 wherein the advanced data management replication server performs a duplicate check to enable identification and prevention of duplicate records, includes structural mapping, value mapping, and key mapping, and further includes a distribution model and routing infrastructure to distribute data based on the distribution model.

The computer readable storage device of claim 17 wherein the cross system views expose a logical system for each source system, the logical system including attributes defining authorizations, and wherein the cross system views are formed by union functions to join views and logical system representations from multiple source systems to create the cross system view with authorizations.

18-1. The computer readable storage device of claim 17 wherein replicating data comprises:

using a base replication server to replicate data based on database triggers and delta logging; and

using an advanced data management replication server to harmonize data prior to replication into the sets of in memory database tables.
