Abstract

A system for a vehicle that provides personal convenience reminders to a user of a vehicle. The system accesses an off board system such as a personal electronic device of the user to display the personal convenience reminders. The system can also access various off board applications in response to the personal electronic device of the user to further refine the personal convenience reminders in response to a user selection.

Claims

1. A system for a vehicle, comprising:

a user identification subsystem operable to detect a user;

a user input subsystem; and

an interactive display subsystem operable to generate output for display on a vehicle window in response to identification of the user, and the user input subsystem, the output associated with a personal convenience reminder specific to the user identified from the user input system.

2. The system as recited in claim 1, wherein the personal convenience reminder is associated with a calendar of the user.

3. The system as recited in claim 1, wherein the output includes a visual representation of one or more pages, each one of the one or more pages selectable through the user input subsystem after detection of the user by the user identification subsystem.

4. The system as recited in claim 3, wherein each one of the one or more pages is selectable through a personal electronic device of the user.

5. The system as recited in claim 4, wherein the personal convenience reminder identified from the user input system is refined via access to an off board application.

6. The system as recited in claim 4, wherein the personal convenience reminder identified from the user input system is refined via access to an off board application in response to a selection by the user.

7. The system as recited in claim 4, wherein the personal convenience reminder identified from the user input system is refined via access to an off board application in response to a selection by the user and in response to a selection by the user.

8. A method of operating a system for a vehicle, comprising:

identifying a user of a vehicle;

accessing a user input system of the user; and

generating an output for display on a vehicle window in response to identification of the user, the output associated with a travel related reminder from the user input system.

9. The method as recited in claim 8, wherein the output is displayed on the outside of a vehicle window.

10. The method as recited in claim 8, wherein the travel related reminder includes displaying an airline departure board for all flights from the user'"'"'s current location to a destination indicated in the user input system in response to accessing an off board application.

11. The method as recited in claim 10, further comprising displaying a selection of a particular flight from the airline departure board.

12. The method as recited in claim 11, further comprising selecting the particular flight via the user input system.

13. The method as recited in claim 11, further comprising selecting the particular flight via a key fob.

14. The method as recited in claim 11, further comprising displaying specific information for the selected flight as the output.

15. The method as recited in claim 14, wherein displaying specific information for the selected flight includes a departure time.

16. A system for a vehicle, comprising:

identifying a user of a vehicle;

accessing an off board system; and

generating an output for display on a vehicle window in response to identification of the user, the output associated with weather-related information from the off board system.

17. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein the output is displayed on the outside of a vehicle window.

18. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein the output includes a weather-related personal reminder associated with the vehicle.

19. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein the output includes a weather-related personal reminder associated with the user.

20. The method as recited in claim 16, wherein the output includes a weather-related personal reminder associated with a destination of the user.
