Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for declining, attaching, and editing patient context to mobile voice communication are provided. Patient demographic or alert information is attached to items within call histories associated with voice communication which are stored in the EMR and utilized for later analysis (e.g., analytics, patient progress, billing, reimbursement, staff scheduling, patient acuity, and the like). In embodiments, the context is declined, attached, or edited to items from the call history. In embodiments, the context is attached to items in the call history when the voice communication is initiated.

Claims

1. One or more computer storage media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to perform operations comprising:

receiving a selection to associate at least one patient context to a call history item corresponding to a voice communication conducted on a user device, the at least one patient context being provided for selection from an electronic medical record;

associating the at least one patient context to the call history item for contextualizing the voice communication; and

communicating the call history item and the associated at least one patient context back to the electronic medical record for storage and analysis.

2. The media of claim 1, wherein to associate the at least one patient context to the call history item includes one of attach or edit the at least one patient context to the call history item.

3. The media of claim 1, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for selection from the electronic medical record comprises an alert, one or more patients, or a combination thereof.

4. The media of claim 1, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for selection from the electronic medical record is communicated over a network.

5. The media of claim 4, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for selection is presented on a display of the user device for selection thereof.

6. The media of claim 1, wherein when a voice communication is completed on the user device, the call history item corresponding thereto is automatically selected to receive the at least another selection for associating the at least one patient context to the call history item.

7. The media of claim 1, wherein the electronic medical record is searchable for providing the at least one patient context for selection.

8. The media of claim 1, wherein the user device is a mobile communication device.

9. A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving a selection to associate at least one patient context to a call history item corresponding to a voice communication conducted on a user device, the at least one patient context being provided for selection from an electronic medical record;

associating, using one or more processors, the at least one patient context to the call history item to improve the electronic medical record by contextualizing the voice communication; and

communicating the call history item and the associated at least one patient context back to the electronic medical record for storage and analysis.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein to associate the at least one patient context to the call history item includes one of attach or edit the at least one patient context to the call history item.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for selection from the electronic medical record comprises an alert, one or more patients, or a combination thereof.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for selection from the electronic medical record is communicated over a network.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for selection is presented on a display of the mobile communication device for selection thereof.

14. The method of claim 9, wherein when a voice communication is completed on the user device, the call history item corresponding thereto is automatically selected to receive the at least another selection for associating the at least one patient context to the call history item.

15. The method of claim 9, wherein the electronic medical record is searchable for providing the at least one patient context for selection.

16. A computerized system comprising:

at least one microprocessor coupled to one or more computer storage media, the one or more computer storage media having stored thereon a plurality of computer software components executable by the at least one microprocessor, the computer software components including—

an item selection component for receiving a first selection of a call history item, the call history item corresponding to a voice communication conducted on the computerized system;

an edit component for receiving a second selection, on a display of the computerized system, to associate at least one patient context to the call history item;

a context selection component that receives a third selection corresponding to at least one patient context communicated over a network from an electronic medical record; and

an attach component for associating the at least one patient context with the call history item for contextualizing the voice communication.

17. The computerized system of claim 16, wherein the edit component causes a pop-up to appear on the display for allowing a clinician to select an appropriate action.

The computerized system of claim 16, wherein when a voice communication is completed, the call history item corresponding thereto is automatically received by the item selection component as the first selection and a prompt is displayed for receiving the second selection to associate the at least one patient context to the call history item.

19. The computerized system of claim 16, wherein the at least one patient context being provided for the third selection from the electronic medical record is communicated over a network.

20. The computerized system of claim 19, wherein the computerized system is a mobile communication device and the electronic medical record is stored in a database on a remote server.
