Abstract

For modifying a device notification, an indication module detects a user awareness indication of a device notification for a device. A notification module modifies the device notification in response to detecting the user awareness indication and concurrently maintains a notification response option.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a processor;

a memory storing computer readable code executable by the processor, the computer readable code comprising;

an indication module detecting a user awareness indication of a device notification for a device; and

a notification module modifying the device notification in response to detecting the user awareness indication and concurrently maintaining a notification response option.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein modifying the device notification comprises terminating the device notification.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein modifying the device notification comprises terminating an audio portion of the device notification.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from a change in an acceleration of the device.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from a change in ambient illumination for the device.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from identifying a user looking at the device.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from a touch to the device.

8. A method comprising:

detecting, by use of a processor, a user awareness indication of a device notification for a device; and

modifying the device notification in response to detecting the user awareness indication and concurrently maintaining a notification response option.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the notification response option comprises an option to respond to an incoming call.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein modifying the device notification comprises terminating the device notification.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein modifying the device notification comprises terminating an audio portion of the device notification.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from a change in an acceleration of the device.

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from a change in ambient illumination for the device.

14. The method of claim 8, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from identifying a user looking at the device.

15. The method of claim 8, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from a touch to the device.

16. The method of claim 8, the method further comprising:

detecting the device notification;

receiving sensor outputs; and

indicating the modification to the device notification.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the sensor outputs are one or more of accelerometer outputs, gyroscope outputs, touch screen outputs, camera outputs, and microphone outputs.

18. A program product comprising a computer readable storage medium storing computer readable code executable by a processor to perform:

detecting a user awareness indication of a device notification for a device; and

modifying the device notification in response to detecting the user awareness indication and concurrently maintaining a notification response option.

19. The program product of claim 18, wherein modifying the device notification comprises one of terminating the device notification and terminating an audio portion of the device notification.

20. The program product of claim 18, wherein the user awareness indication is detected from one or more of a change in an acceleration of the device, a change in ambient illumination for the device, identifying a user looking at the device, and a touch to the device.
