Abstract

Address books may be intelligently adapted. A sensor output is received indicating a measure of vibration of a mobile device. An address book associated with the mobile device is retrieved and condensed according to the measure of the vibration to generate address favorites. The address favorites are displayed on a display device of the mobile device, such that the vibration experienced by the mobile device determines which contacts in the address book are preferred.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving a sensor output indicating a measure of vibration of a mobile device;

determining an operational state of the mobile device based on the measure of vibration;

retrieving an address book associated with the mobile device;

determining address favorites in the address book that are historically contacted during the operational state; and

displaying the address favorites on a display device of the mobile device,

wherein the operational state of the mobile device determines which contacts in the address book are preferred.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising storing a database that associates different contacts to different measures of the vibration.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

retrieving a position that is associated with the measure of the vibration; and

positioning the address favorites at the position on the display device.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising sorting the contacts in the address book according to working hours.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising sorting the contacts in the address book according to personal hours.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising sorting the contacts in the address book according to state of mobility.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising categorizing one of the contacts as unavailable during the operational state.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising demoting the one of the contacts to a secondary screen of the mobile device.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising ranking the address favorites.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising positioning the address favorites at a position on the display device within a thumb radius of a home button.

11. A system, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storing instructions that when executed cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising;

receiving a sensor output indicating a measure of vibration of a mobile device;

retrieving an address book associated with the mobile device;

condensing the address book according to the measure of the vibration to generate address favorites; and

displaying the address favorites on a display device of the mobile device,

wherein the vibration experienced by the mobile device determines which contacts in the address book are preferred.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the operations further comprise storing a database that associates different contacts to different measures of the vibration.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the operations further comprise:

retrieving a position that is associated with the measure of the vibration; and

positioning the address favorites at the position on the display device.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the operations further comprise ranking the contacts in the address book.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a size associated with the measure of the vibration.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the operations further comprise sizing the address favorites to the size associated with the measure of the vibration.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the operations further comprise:

retrieving a thumb radius indicating a length of a thumb; and

positioning the address favorites at a position on the display device within the thumb radius of a home button.

18. A memory storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving a sensor output indicating a measure of vibration of a mobile device;

retrieving an address book associated with the mobile device;

condensing the address book according to the measure of the vibration to generate address favorites; and

displaying the address favorites on a display device of the mobile device,

wherein the vibration experienced by the mobile device determines which contacts in the address book are preferred.

19. The memory of claim 18, wherein the operations further comprise storing a database that associates different contacts to different measures of the vibration.

20. The memory of claim 19, wherein the operations further comprise:

retrieving a position that is associated with the measure of the vibration; and

positioning the address favorites at the position on the display device.
