Abstract

A system and method for providing user interface for user-specified context is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method for providing a context-based user interface comprises providing a collection of user interface cards based on a user'"'"'s context and receiving a user'"'"'s selection of a plurality of user interface cards from the collection of user interface cards. The plurality of user interface cards is saved on a user'"'"'s device, and the plurality of user interface cards comprises a user interface card that has a data portion and a form portion. The form portion of the user interface card is updated from a card repository. The data portion of the user interface card is separately received from a remote device or a remote server. The user interface card is displayed on the user'"'"'s device with an updated form portion and the received data portion.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method for providing a context-based user interface comprising:

providing a collection of user interface cards based on a user'"'"'s context,

receiving a user'"'"'s selection of a plurality of user interface cards from the collection of user interface cards,

saving the plurality of user interface cards on a user'"'"'s device, wherein the plurality of user interface cards comprises a user interface card that has a data portion and a form portion,

updating the form portion of the user interface card from a card repository,

separately receiving the data portion of the user interface card from a remote device or a remote server, and

displaying the user interface card on the user'"'"'s device with an updated form portion and the received data portion.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the user'"'"'s context comprises the user'"'"'s location, role, responsibility, situation, and environment.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of user interface cards comprises a machine and patient browser.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

stacking the plurality of user interface cards in an imaginary space, and

providing an intuitive user interaction to the user in response to a user'"'"'s action.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 4, wherein the plurality of user interface cards are interchangeably displayed on the user'"'"'s device by a swipe motion by the user or touching a specific area of the user'"'"'s device.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of user interface cards is provided based on an expert or group suggestion.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the user'"'"'s device is one of the device group comprising a smartphone, a mobile device, a laptop, a big screen, a desktop PC, a wearable computer, and an industrial machine.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, the plurality of user interface cards is provided in the context of JQuery, JavaScript, and Industrial Internet Design Systems (IIDS).

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of user interface cards comprise a collaboration and workflow card.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9, wherein the collaboration and workflow card provides one or more communication tools including text chat, video and voice calling, image annotation and sharing, and task and alert notification and tracking.

12. The system of claim 11, The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the user'"'"'s context comprises the user'"'"'s location, role, responsibility, situation, and environment.

11. A system comprising:

a network interface for connecting to a remote server and/or a remote device;

a display for providing user interface cards to a user; and

a processor running a card reader, wherein the card reader;

provides a collection of user interface cards based on a user'"'"'s context,

receives a selection of a plurality of user interface cards from the collection of user interface cards,

saves the plurality of user interface cards on a user'"'"'s device, wherein the plurality of user interface cards comprises a user interface card that has a data portion and a form portion,

updates the form portion of the user interface card from a card repository,

separately receives the data portion of the user interface card from the remote device or the remote server, and

displays the user interface card on the user'"'"'s device with an updated form portion and the received data portion.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the plurality of user interface cards comprises a machine and patient browser.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the card reader further:

stacks the plurality of user interface cards in an imaginary space, and

provides an intuitive user interaction to the user in response to a user'"'"'s action.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the plurality of user interface cards are interchangeably displayed on the user'"'"'s device by a swipe motion by the user or touching a specific area of the user'"'"'s device.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the plurality of user interface cards is provided based on an expert or group suggestion.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the user'"'"'s device is one of the device group comprising a smartphone, a mobile device, a laptop, a big screen, a desktop PC, a wearable computer, and an industrial machine.

18. The system of claim 11, the plurality of user interface cards is provided in the context of JQuery, JavaScript, and Industrial Internet Design Systems (IIDS).

19. The system of claim 11, wherein the plurality of user interface cards comprise a collaboration and workflow card.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the collaboration and workflow card provides one or more communication tools including text chat, video and voice calling, image annotation and sharing, and task and alert notification and tracking.
