Abstract

A vehicle computer system (VCS) configured to communicate with one or more mobile devices, comprising a first processor configured to automatically create a priority list by utilizing one or more factors associated with communication activity between the vehicle computer system and the one or more mobile devices, wherein the priority list includes instructions to pair one or more mobile devices with the VCS and indicates the order of connecting to the one or more mobile devices. The vehicle computer system also includes a wireless transceiver including a second processor configured to receive the priority list from the first processor and establish a wireless connection with one or more mobile devices based on the priority list.

Claims

1. A vehicle computer system (VCS) configured to communicate with one or more mobile devices, comprising:

a first processor configured to automatically create a priority list by utilizing one or more factors associated with communication activity between the vehicle computer system and the one or more mobile devices, wherein the priority list includes instructions to pair one or more mobile devices with the VCS and indicates an order of connecting to the one or more mobile devices; and

a wireless transceiver including a second processor configured to;

receive the priority list from the first processor;

establish a wireless connection with one or more mobile devices based on the priority list.

2. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the priority list further indicates a number of attempts to establish a connection with the one or more mobile device before timing out.

3. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a last connected device.

4. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a second to last connected device.

5. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are connected most frequently during a time period.

6. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 5, wherein the time period is one week.

7. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a mobile device connected most during a specific day of the week.

8. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a mobile device connected most during a specific time of day.

9. The vehicle computer system configured to communicate with a mobile device of claim 1, wherein the second processor is a base-band processor.

10. A vehicle computer system (VCS), comprising:

a processor configured to;

automatically create a priority list by utilizing one or more factors associated with wireless pairing activity between the VCS and mobile-devices, wherein the priority list indicates an order of connecting to the mobile-devices and a number of attempts for each of the mobile-devices to connect with the VCS before timing out; and

connect with a first mobile-device based on the priority list.

11. The vehicle computer system of claim 10, wherein the processor is further configured to:

detect a disconnect between the first mobile-device and the VCS;

connect to a second mobile-device based on the priority list;

attempt to connect to the first mobile-device for a specific time period, while connected to the second mobile-device; and

disconnect the second mobile-device upon reconnecting with the first mobile-device.

12. The VCS of claim 10, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a mobile device connected most during a specific day of the week.

13. The VCS of claim 10, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a favorite mobile device.

14. The VCS of claim 10, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a last connected device.

15. The VCS of claim 10, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are connected most frequently during a time period.

16. A vehicle computer system (VCS) configured to communicate with one or more mobile devices, comprising:

a processor configured to automatically create a priority list by utilizing one or more factors associated with communication activity between the vehicle computer system and the one or more mobile devices, wherein the priority list includes instructions to pair one or more mobile devices with the VCS and indicates an order of connecting to the one or more mobile devices; and

establish a wireless connection with one or more mobile devices based on the priority list.

17. The vehicle computer system of claim 16, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a last connected device.

18. The vehicle computer system of claim 16, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a second to last connected device.

19. The vehicle computer system of claim 16, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are connected most frequently during a time period.

20. The vehicle computer system of claim 16, wherein the one or more factors include whether the one or more mobile devices are a mobile device connected most during a specific day of the week.
