Abstract

Aspects and examples are disclosed for facilitating mobile commerce. In one example, a processing device receives a data network identifier or other identifier from a commerce application. The data network identifier or other identifier can be associated with a mobile device conducting a transaction with the commerce application. The processing device can also obtain a credential associated with the mobile device using the data network identifier. The processing device can additionally retrieve identification information from a credit file associated with the credential. The identification information can be useable for completing the transaction. The processing device can further transmit the identification information to a computing device executing the commerce application.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a processing device, an identifier from a commerce application, wherein the identifier is associated with a mobile device conducting a transaction with the commerce application;

obtaining, by the processing device, a credential associated with the mobile device using the identifier;

retrieving, by the processing device, identification information from a credit file associated with the credential, wherein the identification information is usable for completing the transaction; and

transmitting, by the processing device, the identification information to a computing device executing the commerce application.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the identifier comprises an identifier of a user associated with the mobile device.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein obtaining the credential associated with the mobile device comprises:

establishing a secure data connection with a telecommunication provider;

transmitting a request for the credential to the telecommunication provider, wherein the request comprises the identifier; and

receiving the credential from the telecommunication provider.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

receiving a credit verification request for an entity;

performing, based on the credit file and the credential, a credit verification operation in response to receiving the credit verification request; and

transmitting results of the credit verification operation.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising, prior to receiving the identifier:

receiving a credit verification request for an entity, wherein the credit verification request includes the identification information; and

performing, based on the credit file, a credit verification operation in response to receiving the credit verification request; and

updating the credit file with at least some of the identification information.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein performing the credit verification request comprises determining whether the transaction is indicative of fraudulent activity associated with the entity.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the identification information comprises at least one of a name of an entity conducting the transaction, a social security number associated with the entity, a geographic address associated with the entity, and a credit card number associated with the entity.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising establishing a secure data connection with a remote server executing the commerce application, wherein the identification information is provided via the secure data connection.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining whether an entity is eligible for a product or service based on the identification information; and

transmitting information associated with the product or service to the entity.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the product or service comprises a financial product or service from a third party lender.

7. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

determining that the transaction is indicative of the fraudulent activity; and

transmitting a warning to the commerce application to terminate the transaction.

12. A system comprising:

a processing device; and

a non-transitory computer-readable medium communicatively coupled to the processing device and storing instructions executable by the processing device, wherein the processing device is configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising;

receiving an identifier from a commerce application, wherein the identifier is associated with a mobile device conducting a transaction with the commerce application;

obtaining a credential associated with the mobile device using the identifier;

retrieving identification information from a credit file associated with the credential, wherein the identification information is usable for completing the transaction; and

transmitting the identification information to a computing device executing the commerce application.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein obtaining the credential associated with the mobile device comprises:

establishing a secure data connection with a telecommunication provider;

transmitting a request for the credential to the telecommunication provider, wherein the request comprises the identifier; and

receiving the credential from the telecommunication provider.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the processing device is further configured to:

receive a credit verification request for an entity;

perform, based on the credit file and the credential, a credit verification operation in response to receiving the credit verification request; and

transmit results of the credit verification operation.

15. The system of claim 12, wherein prior to receiving the identifier the processing device is further configured to:

receive a credit verification request for an entity, wherein the credit verification request includes the identification information; and

perform, based on the credit file, a credit verification operation in response to receiving the credit verification request; and

update the credit file with at least some of the identification information.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein performing the credit verification request comprises determining whether the transaction is indicative of fraudulent activity associated with the entity.

17. The system of claim 16, where the processing device is further configured to:

determine that the transaction is indicative of the fraudulent activity; and

transmit a warning to the commerce application to terminate the transaction.

18. The system of claim 12, wherein the identification information comprises at least one of a name of an entity conducting the transaction, a social security number associated with the entity, a geographic address associated with the entity, and a credit card number associated with the entity.

19. The system of claim 12, further comprising establishing a secure data connection with a remote server executing the commerce application, wherein the identification information is provided via the secure data connection.

20. The system of claim 12, where the processing device is further configured to:

determine whether an entity is eligible for a product or service based on the identification information; and

transmit information associated with the product or service to the entity.

21. The system of claim 20, wherein the product or service comprises a financial product or service from a third party lender.
