Abstract

A system comprises a processor configured to subscribe to a broadcast of vehicle-related state changes. The processor is also configured to detect at least one vehicle-related state change in the broadcast that triggers an application launch and launch an application corresponding to the detected vehicle related state change.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a processor configured to;

subscribe to a broadcast of vehicle-related state changes;

detect at least one vehicle-related state change in the broadcast that triggers an application launch; and

launch an application corresponding to the detected vehicle related state change.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising the processor being configured to:

request data from a remote source corresponding to the application;

download the requested data; and

delay the application launch until at least a predetermined amount of data has been downloaded.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the state change includes a vehicle location.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the state change includes a vehicle service requirement.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the state change includes a payment loan due date arrival.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to launch the application to be handled by a wirelessly connected vehicle computing system.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:

determine whether a mobile device containing the processor is located within a vehicle or external to a vehicle; and

wherein the launch further comprises launching a version of the application based on the determination.

8. A computer-implemented method comprising:

subscribing to a broadcast of vehicle-related state changes;

detecting at least one vehicle-related state change in the broadcast that triggers an application launch; and

launching an application corresponding to the detected vehicle related state change.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

requesting data from a remote source corresponding to the application;

downloading the requested data; and

delaying the application launch until at least a predetermined amount of data has been downloaded.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the state change includes a vehicle location.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the state change includes a vehicle service requirement.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the state change includes a payment loan due date arrival.

13. The method of claim 8, further comprising launching the application to be handled by a wirelessly connected vehicle computing system.

14. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

determining whether a mobile device containing a processor performing the method is located within a vehicle or external to a vehicle; and

wherein the launching further comprises launching a version of the application based on the determination.

15. A computer-readable storage medium, storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method comprising:

subscribing to a broadcast of vehicle-related state changes;

detecting at least one vehicle-related state change in the broadcast that triggers an application launch; and

launching an application corresponding to the detected vehicle related state change.

16. The storage medium of claim 15, further comprising:

requesting data from a remote source corresponding to the application;

downloading the requested data; and

delaying the application launch until at least a predetermined amount of data has been downloaded.

17. The storage medium of claim 15, wherein the state change includes a vehicle location.

18. The storage medium of claim 15, wherein the state change includes a vehicle service requirement.

19. The storage medium of claim 15, wherein the state change includes a payment loan due date arrival.

20. The storage medium of claim 15, further comprising:

determining whether a mobile device containing a processor performing the method is located within a vehicle or external to a vehicle; and

wherein the launching further comprises launching a version of the application based on the determination.
