Abstract

In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for replicating a source service domain to a target service domain in a cloud computing platform environment. In accordance with an embodiment, the system comprises a cloud platform component provided as an installable software suite within the cloud environment, that supports provisioning of enterprise applications; a test to production (T2P) framework module that includes a plurality of T2P plugins and a PaaS plugin; and a user interface where an administrator or a user can invoke the plugins to replicate a source service domain to a target service domain. The system allows a user to manually customize move plans for service domain configurations based on the requirements of the target service domain, and recreate the configurations in the target service domain in accordance with the customized move plans.

Claims

1. A system for replicating configurations from a source service domain to a target service domain in a cloud computing platform environment, comprising:

one or more computers including a cloud environment executing thereon;

a cloud platform component provided as an installable software suite within the cloud environment, that supports provisioning of enterprise applications; and

a test to production (T2P) framework module that includes a platform as a service (PaaS) plugin and a plurality of T2P plugins;

wherein the plurality of T2P plugins and the PaaS plugin are invoked to replicate a source service domain to a target service domain within the cloud environment.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein a domain configuration archive is created to contain service domain configurations of the source service domain and a move plan for each service domain configuration.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the move plan for each service domain configuration includes one or more files with customizable parameters for a service domain.

4. The system of claim 2, wherein the move plan files are extracted from the domain configuration archive and customized at a user interface based on requirements of the target service domain.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the customized move plans are used to recreate the service domain configurations in the target service domain.

The system of claim 1, wherein the service domain configurations include one or more of a virtualization configuration, a service definition package configuration, a service type configuration, a provider type configuration, a service resource type configuration, and a tenant structure configuration.

7. A method of providing functionality in a cloud computing environment, comprising:

providing, at one or more computers including a cloud environment executing thereon, a cloud platform component as an installable software suite that supports provisioning of enterprise applications; and

providing a test to production (T2P) framework module that includes a platform as a service (PaaS) plugin and a plurality of T2P plugins;

wherein the plurality of T2P plugins and the PaaS plugin are invoked to replicate a source service domain to a target service domain within the cloud environment.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein a domain configuration archive is created to contain service domain configurations of the source service domain and a move plan for each service domain configuration.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the move plan for each service domain configuration includes one or more files with customizable parameters for a service domain.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the move plan files are extracted from the domain configuration archive and customized at a user interface based on requirements of the target service domain.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the customized move plans are used to recreate the service domain configurations in the target service domain.

The method of claim 7, wherein the service domain configurations include one or more of a virtualization configuration, a service definition package configuration, a service type configuration, a provider type configuration, a service resource type configuration, and a tenant structure configuration.

13. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium, including instructions stored thereon which when read and executed by one or more computers cause the one or more computers to perform the steps comprising:

providing, at one or more computers including a cloud environment executing thereon, a cloud platform component as an installable software suite that supports provisioning of enterprise applications; and

providing a test to production (T2P) framework module that includes a platform as a service (PaaS) plugin and a plurality of T2P plugins;

wherein the plurality of T2P plugins and the PaaS plugin are invoked to replicate a source service domain to a target service domain within the cloud environment.

14. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13, wherein a domain configuration archive is created to contain service domain configurations of the source service domain and a move plan for each service domain configuration.

15. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 14, wherein the move plan for each service domain configuration includes one or more files with customizable parameters for a service domain.

16. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 14, wherein the move plan files are extracted from the domain configuration archive and customized at a user interface based on requirements of the target service domain.

The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13, wherein the service domain configurations include one or more of a virtualization configuration, a service definition package configuration, a service type configuration, a provider type configuration, a service resource type configuration, and a tenant structure configuration.

17. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of 16, wherein the customized move plans are used to recreate the service domain configurations in the target service domain.
