Abstract

A first location of a user in a customer premises may be determined. A display is provided of a user interface that includes an adjustable element. A determination is made that the user has moved to a second location in the customer premises. The display of the user interface is adjusted such that the adjustable element is adjusted.

Claims

1. A computing device that includes a processor and a memory, the device programmed to:

determine a first location of a user in a customer premises;

provide a stationary display of a user interface that includes an adjustable element;

determine that the user has moved to a second location in the customer premises; and

adjust the stationary display of the user interface such that the adjustable element is adjusted.

2. The device of claim 1, further programmed to display a stream of media content received via a network.

3. The device of claim 1, further programmed to adjust the adjustable element by re-sizing the adjustable element.

4. The device of claim 1, further programmed to adjust the adjustable element by changing an audio volume.

5. The device of claim 1, further programmed to determine the first location of the user and the second location of the user at least in part according to a first detected location of a portable user device and a second detected location of the portable user device, the portable user device being separate from the stationary display device.

6. The device of claim 1, further programmed to identify the first detected location of the user device and the second detected location of the user device by using at least one of a global position system (GPS), IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, ZigBee, and IEEE 802.15.4.

7. The device of claim 1, further programmed to determine at least one of the first location of the user and the second location of the user at least in part according input from a sensor device.

8. The device of claim 1, further programmed to

determine a third location of a second user in the customer premises;

determine a priority between the first user and the second user; and

adjust the display of the user interface such that the adjustable element is adjusted at least in part based on the priority.

9. A system, comprising a computing device that includes a processor and a memory, wherein the computing device is programmed to:

store a map of a customer premises, the map specifying respective locations for items in the customer premises, the items including the device;

store a set of rules specifying an adjustment to the adjustable element according to a location of a user determined with respect to the map of the customer premises; and

according to a detected user location, adjust a stationary display that is communicatively coupled to the computing device of the user interface such that the adjustable element is adjusted.

10. The system of claim 9, further programmed to display a stream of media content received via a network.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the rules include a specification of priority between the user and at least one second user.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the device is further programmed to adjust the adjustable element by at least one of re-sizing the adjustable element and changing an audio volume.

13. A method, comprising:

determining a first location of a user in a customer premises;

providing a stationary display of a user interface that includes an adjustable element;

determining that the user has moved to a second location in the customer premises; and

adjusting stationary the display of the user interface such that the adjustable element is adjusted.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising displaying a stream of media content received via a network.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprising adjusting the adjustable element by re-sizing the adjustable element.

16. The method of claim 13, further comprising adjusting the adjustable element by changing an audio volume.

17. The method of claim 13, further comprising determining the first location of the user and the second location of the user at least in part according to a first detected location of a portable user device and a second detected location of the portable user device, the portable user device being separate from the stationary display device.

18. The method of claim 13, further comprising identifying the first detected location of the user device and the second detected location of the user device by using at least one of a global position system (GPS), IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, ZigBee, and IEEE 802.15.4.

19. The method of claim 13, further comprising determining at least one of the first location of the user and the second location of the user at least in part according input from a sensor device.

20. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

determining a third location of a second user in the customer premises;

determining a priority between the first user and the second user; and

adjusting the display of the user interface such that the adjustable element is adjusted at least in part based on the priority.
